The National Assembly will study amendments to several articles of the Constitution in March.

On the afternoon of March 4, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a meeting on the work results of February, key tasks for March and the following months of 2025 of National Assembly agencies and the National Assembly Office.

Reporting at the meeting, Secretary General and Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung said that in February, the National Assembly Office urgently, actively and proactively advised on developing a plan to arrange and organize the apparatus so that immediately after the National Assembly passed the laws and resolutions, they could be put into operation...

Outlining the key tasks in March and the following months of 2025, Mr. Le Quang Tung emphasized that the agencies should focus on advising and reporting to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Steering Committee before March 15 on the summary of Resolution No. 18. Review and propose amendments to the Party Charter, Regulations on the implementation of the Party Charter, inspection, supervision and party discipline work... according to Conclusion No. 127 dated February 28 of the Politburo.

At the same time, research agencies will amend a number of articles of the Constitution on the organization of the political system. Review and study the amendments to laws according to Conclusion No. 127; report to the Politburo, and complete the amendments and supplements no later than June 30.

Coordinate with Government agencies to review, propose amendments and supplements to relevant legal provisions in the process of researching orientations for the abolition of intermediate administrative levels; develop plans for the arrangement of commune levels in accordance with the new organizational model, propose the organization of the apparatus and responsibilities of commune levels; and orientate the merger of a number of provincial-level administrative units.

In his concluding remarks, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the National Assembly agencies for completing a huge amount of work, contributing to the success of the 9th Extraordinary Session with many historic decisions.

"In my closing speech, I said that at this important historical moment, there must be historic, breakthrough decisions for the country's development. The Party has a policy, the Government has presented it, so the National Assembly must immediately institutionalize it for the Government to operate," said the National Assembly Chairman.

Emphasizing that streamlining the political system's organizational apparatus is a great revolution, the National Assembly Chairman said that the tasks that the National Assembly, Party agencies, the Government, and localities have recently completed are very large, but there is still a lot of work to do in the coming time.

In March and the following months of 2025, the National Assembly Chairman requested that the National Assembly agencies continue to make efforts, join hands, unite, promote experience, and work with urgency and responsibility as in the past to successfully complete assigned tasks.

Regarding specific tasks, the National Assembly Chairman assigned the Deputy Secretaries of the National Assembly Party Committee to direct the advisory and support agencies of the National Assembly Party Committee and affiliated Party Committees to urgently complete the reporting to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Steering Committee before March 15 on the summary of Resolution 18.

Along with that, the National Assembly Chairman requested Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh to direct the Standing Committee of the Law and Justice Committee to study and amend and supplement a number of articles of the Constitution related to the issue of organizing the apparatus of the political system;

At the same time, coordinate with Government agencies to study and propose specific amendments and supplements to legal documents related to the organization and apparatus arrangement that must be handled immediately and are of a special nature and not handled according to the general principles of legal documents previously issued by the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
