During the months of March, throughout the three regions of the North, Central and South, at the Army's training bases, there is always the enthusiastic atmosphere of the sound of orders and the enthusiastic footsteps of thousands of soldiers, officers and militiamen practicing.
They are elite people selected from the entire army and outside the army to practice together to prepare for the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day which will take place on April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City.
At training sites in the suburbs of Hanoi, more than 1,500 soldiers from 16 officer corps defied the cloudy, rainy and cold weather and still enthusiastically practiced.

On March 4, at National Military Training Center 4, these 16 units held their third joint training to continue evaluating results and drawing lessons.
After the joint training, experience sharing and listening to the instructions and encouragement from General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, the units returned to the assembly point to rest.
Married on the training ground
Among the troops moving to the assembly point, there was a special military couple, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Chinh (Air Defense - Air Force officer block) and Lieutenant Vu Thi Thu (female Communications officer block).
Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Chinh and his wife, Lieutenant Vu Thi Thu, met after the morning training session.
Holding hands on the training ground, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Chinh kindly asked his wife after sweaty hours of training. They walked slowly and chatted happily.
Nguyen Truong Chinh and Vu Thi Thu are both 26 years old, from Nam Truc, Nam Dinh, they studied at the same high school.
"At that time, we only knew each other but were not close. After graduating, we only knew that we worked together in the Army," Thu said.
More than a year ago, the Army selected officers to participate in the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Two enthusiastic young officers met the criteria.
One time, when Ms. Thu posted a training photo on her personal Facebook page, Mr. Chinh immediately recognized this as an acquaintance who was doing the same task. As if by chance, the officer quickly asked and chatted with his comrade and fellow countryman.
At first, there were general stories, memories of school, family, hometown, then stories of parade practice, life in the army, and then gradually private confidences.
One day in March 2024, they made an appointment to meet in person during their first joint training session at the National Military Training Center 4. After that, from the stories on the training ground, the two of them fell in love with each other without realizing it.
Feeling that her boyfriend is sincere and mature, Ms. Thu trusted him and shared everything about her daily life.

The days on the training ground have forged their love. Earlier this year, they had a warm wedding witnessed by family, friends and teammates.
"Our wedding ceremony was simple but very complete and meaningful because our whole family and comrades in the unit were present to give us their blessings. After the wedding, we immediately received orders to return to the unit to continue our duties," Thu shared.
Putting aside their personal happiness, from February, the couple quickly returned to their unit to prepare for the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification Day.
Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Chinh was trained and practiced in Chuong My; and Lieutenant Vu Thi Thu was trained in Son Tay. During the days apart, the couple could only take advantage of their lunch breaks or evenings to call each other over the phone. Whenever the units organized joint training sessions, the couple took advantage of their breaks to meet in person.

Although they are no longer unfamiliar with the regulations, the high-intensity training sessions require each individual like Senior Lieutenant Chinh and Lieutenant Thu in the block to practice to achieve uniformity, coordination, and unity with each other to form a solid block.

"It is a great honor for both of us to participate in military parades and marches during important national holidays. We are very proud and determined to complete our mission well," Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Chinh held his wife's hand tightly to show his determination.
Lieutenant General Thai Van Minh, Director of the Department of Military Training - Schools (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army) said that on March 4, for the first time, the Army's groups practiced together. During more than a month of training with a high sense of responsibility in the very hot weather of the South, and the cold and rainy weather of the North, all officers and soldiers made great efforts to overcome difficulties, determined to complete the mission.
The 50th anniversary of national reunification is an event of great political significance for the country, with a national and international impact. The Vietnam People's Army plays an important role in the celebration, with the parade demonstrating the strength of the Vietnam People's Army and its armed forces.
Lieutenant General Thai Van Minh expressed his determination that in the coming time, from the block leader to the Military Flag team, the members of the block need to increase their training to form a unified block.
