Soc Trang currently has 8 national historical-cultural relics, 45 provincial historical-cultural relics, and 8 intangible cultural heritages. For tourism activities, while intangible cultural heritages with historical and cultural values bearing community identity are spiritual products that attract tourists, historical relics become meaningful destinations that contribute to the development of local tourism.

In 2024, Soc Trang will have two more historical relics ranked at the provincial level: Phung Tuong Temple (located in Phung Tuong 1 Hamlet, Song Phung Commune, Long Phu District) and Ong Nam Hai Tomb (in Dau Giong Hamlet, Tran De Town, Tran De District). The recognition of the relics has contributed to the preservation of local cultural heritage, creating opportunities for local people and tourists to visit, worship, and learn about revolutionary history...

Along with the recognition and ranking of historical relics, the work of restoring, embellishing and conserving historical relics, tangible and intangible cultural heritages is of interest. In July 2024, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee submitted a document requesting the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee's approval to develop a Project on "Preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of historical and cultural relics in Soc Trang province" for the period 2024 - 2025 and the period 2025 - 2030. Of which, there are 4 national-level relics including: Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee Base (My Tu district), Taberd School - the place to welcome the political prisoners from Con Dao on September 23, 1945 (Soc Trang city), Uncle Ho Temple (Cu Lao Dung district), My Dong Lady of the Land Temple (Nga Nam town) and 19 degraded provincial-level relics proposed for investment in restoration and rehabilitation. Previously, interdisciplinary inspection teams and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang deployed a plan to survey relic sites in the province to record the current status of the relics.
