(Fatherland) - On the evening of November 11, the Closing Ceremony of the Hanoi International Film Festival - HANIFF 2024 - concluded with many awards presented to outstanding films and individuals at the Hoan Kiem Theater.
After 5 days of organization, from 7-11/11 with many film screenings and activities, the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) has ended with many impressions. The Film Festival (LHP) contributed to creating a warm artistic atmosphere for the capital's audience and a desire for creativity for Vietnamese and international film artists.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Thanh Long - Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky - Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts. Along with representatives of Central Committees, Ministries, and branches, leaders of Hanoi city; artists and a large number of press agencies, audiences following and loving the Film Festival.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh - Director of the Department of Cinema, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: With the theme "Cinema: Creativity - Take Off", the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival affirms its prestige and is a symbol of the creative spirit and integration of Vietnamese cinema and 51 cinemas in the world with an increasingly professional scale and organization, while creating a unique mark of a Film Festival held in the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long presented the Best Feature Film award to Iranian director Majid-Reza Mostafavi. The Iranian film "Hardshell" won three awards for its crew, including Best Actor, Best Feature Film Director and Best Feature Film.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and Mr. Nguyen The Ky - Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts announced the award categories of the 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival.
The winner of the Best Short Film award went to Colombia's A Bird Flew.
The Promising Young Actor Award (18 to 35 years old) was given to actress Ngoc Xuan - who played the female lead in the movie "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story".
Speaking after receiving the award, the actress expressed her gratitude to the Film Festival Organizing Committee, the director, screenwriter and the film crew of "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story". For the actress, this award is a great encouragement on her career journey. She also thanked her co-stars Alvin Lu and Do Nhat Hoang for accompanying her in her first film.
The Jury Prize for Short Film went to “The Rubber Tappers” from Cambodia.
The Iranian Embassy representative accepted the award for Best Short Film Director on behalf of director Nasim Forough. He was honored for his film "Typesetter".
With the theme "Cinema: Creativity - Take Off", the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival affirms its prestige and is a symbol of the creative and integrated spirit of Vietnamese cinema and 51 cinemas in the world with an increasingly professional scale and organization, while creating a unique mark of a Film Festival held in the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People's Committee jointly organized a solemn film event with the participation of 800 Vietnamese and international delegates; 117 films from 51 countries and territories were screened at 3 cinema complexes: National Cinema Center, BHD, CGV.
In-depth professional activities such as two seminars "Spotlight on German cinema", seminar "Development of film production exploiting historical themes and adaptations from literary works", exhibition "Vietnam's heritages recognized by UNESCO - Experience through cinema footage", film production project market, exchange sessions between film crew artists and audiences before or after screenings at theaters have created a vibrant, colorful atmosphere, attracting a large audience of Hanoi audiences and international tourists, contributing to the exchange and learning between Vietnamese and international filmmakers, promoting the development of tourism in the capital Hanoi and Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Hanoi People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to directors and screenwriters of films about Hanoi, who contributed to the economic and social development of the capital, and participated in and responded to the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival. Accordingly, director, People's Artist Viet Huong, director, Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son, director, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Duc Viet, and screenwriter Nguyen Thi Hong Ngat were awarded this certificate of merit.
The Closing Ceremony and Awards Ceremony stage brought the audience special performances imbued with Vietnamese culture.
The performance of Soobin Hoang Son and Cuong Seven with the mashup "Sitting on the boat's side - Trong com" received enthusiastic cheers from the audience and guests present at the Film Festival.
By combining tradition and modernity, the mashup stage shows the meaning of artistic fusion, just like the theme "Creativity - Take Off" of this year's Film Festival.
The closing ceremony of the 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival ended with a powerful performance by singer Thu Minh.
