(To Quoc) - In a special class called “Q-Talk 3: Learning to speak” held on March 9 at Au Co Arts Center, Hanoi, students had the opportunity to share their own stories. At the same time, they also listened to teachers’ experiences in communication and made many new friends to accompany them in their studies.
The program attracted nearly 800 students studying in Hanoi and neighboring provinces and cities. This is an annual event organized by QANDA Study, aiming to promote creative teaching and learning, connecting teachers and students in an inspiring educational space.
Following the success of the previous two seasons, Q-Talk season 3 expands on the theme of "learning to speak", focusing on expressing oneself in a healthy way to speak up personal thoughts - an important tool to help students develop themselves.
Nearly 800 students studying in Hanoi and neighboring provinces and cities attended the program.
Attending the event early with her best friend, Dao Thi Thanh Tuyen, a student of class 12A7, Thach That High School (Hanoi) shared: "When I was young, I was a rather introverted girl, rarely expressing my feelings or thoughts to my parents. Gradually, I realized that this could make my family not understand my situation and I could not understand my parents' feelings. In class, there was also some distance between me and my friends."
Realizing that her lack of confidence in communication was an obstacle in her studies and life, Tuyen made an effort to practice speaking skills, looking for opportunities to express and voice her own opinions.
"When I open up more and am willing to share with my family and friends, I will receive advice and support to find a solution for anything. I am willing to admit my mistakes and not afraid to share what I don't know or what I lack in my studies. The encouragement and help that follow will become the motivation to help me improve myself. Besides the lessons at school, learning to speak is an important skill to promote the development of each individual," Thanh Tuyen said.
As for Nguyen Hong Anh, Thanh Tuyen's classmate, being confident in communication helps her a lot in her position as class monitor of class 12A7, Thach That High School (Hanoi). "You have to speak up about your problems and desires so that you can find a suitable solution. But speaking also requires tact," Hong Anh said.
Students interact with delegates with inspirational lessons.
According to Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Huyen, author of the book, a teacher with 7 years of experience teaching math on an online platform, both students and teachers need to learn and practice communication skills. Teachers need to teach and convey knowledge through words so that students can easily understand. And students also need to express things they do not know, lessons and notebooks they do not understand so that teachers can grasp and explain them promptly.
At "Q-Talk 3: Learning to Speak", students also had the opportunity to interact with literature teacher Suong Mai and artist Jun Pham - the recipient of the C prize of the National Book Award in 2024. In addition, the event also brought unique learning experiences with a combination of speech, music and drama. From there, it helped students better understand the meaning of expression, inspiring them to be more confident in expressing their opinions and thoughts.
