Many special activities in the 10th Vietnam - Japan festival in 2025

The 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City took place on March 8-9 with many cultural exchange activities, trade and tourism promotion, spreading the message "Children - Earth - Future", aiming to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

On February 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City jointly held a press conference to inform about the 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs Le Truong Duy said that over the past 52 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973, Vietnam and Japan have increasingly become each other's leading important partners in many fields.

Especially after the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan relations (1973 - 2023), the relationship between the two countries has been upgraded to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world".

Mr. Duy added that the Vietnam-Japan relationship is at its best stage of development. Japan is currently Vietnam's leading economic partner, the largest partner in terms of non-refundable aid (ODA), the second in terms of labor cooperation, the third in terms of investment and tourism, the fourth in terms of trade...; the No. 1 urban railway line in Ho Chi Minh City, which will come into operation at the end of 2024, is also a vivid demonstration of the results of economic cooperation and other fields between the two countries.

According to Mr. Le Truong Duy, the 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City is a special event marking the 10-year milestone.

This is an annual activity on cultural diplomacy and people-to-people exchange between the two countries in general, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Japan in particular, demonstrating a long journey in the close friendship between the governments and people of the two countries.

Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, hopes that many Ho Chi Minh City residents will be interested in and participate in exchange activities between Japan and Ho Chi Minh City so that the exchange relationship between the people of the two countries will develop more deeply.

"People-to-people exchanges are the foundation for building close relations," said Ono Masuo.

This year's festival takes place over two days, March 8-9, with exchange programs, trade promotion, cuisine, culture and tourism between Vietnam and Japan... with the aim of strongly spreading the message "Children - Earth - Future".

A typical example is the meeting between Vietnamese and Japanese students, with the theme "Children, the Earth and the Future" at Le Quy Don Secondary and High School, District 3 on March 7.

In addition, a friendly cycling event with the participation of delegates from both countries and athletes from Ho Chi Minh City and Japan from Ba Son Metro Station (District 1); the "Japan Vietnam Kodomo Feature Tomodachi Show" took place on the evening of March 9, with a special performance by young artists from both countries.

The festival also includes exchange and experience activities of Japanese sports Sumo & T-Ball to help Vietnamese people have the opportunity to learn and experience typical Japanese sports, performances and exchanges with SUMO wrestlers from the Japan Sumo Federation, T-Ball exchange tournament for students of the two countries...
