On the morning of March 9, the 9th Vietnam - Japan Festival 2024 officially opened at 23/9 Park (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).
Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio himself opened the opening ceremony with a video address. He introduced: "I am Kishida Fumio - Prime Minister of Japan. Today, I am very pleased to send my congratulations to the opening ceremony of the 9th Vietnam - Japan Festival."
The Japanese Prime Minister shared that he was very happy that the two countries were becoming closer and closer, and that he himself had built close relationships with many Vietnamese people.
He said that in Japan there are many restaurants and stores selling Vietnamese products that are popular. On the other hand, he also learned that young Vietnamese people especially love Japanese culture and cuisine.
Therefore, Mr. Kishida hopes that this festival will contribute to further promoting exchanges between the people of Vietnam and Japan.

Responding to the Japanese Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang emphasized his belief that this year's Vietnam - Japan Festival will attract the participation of many people from both countries, bringing colorful experiences of each country's traditional culture.
Mr. Quang affirmed: "The festival will be a bridge of friendship to strengthen the sincere attachment and mutual trust between the people of the two countries, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership not only in the fields of economic, trade and labor cooperation but also opening up new areas such as environment, digital transformation, green transformation, high technology...".

In addition, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu said that up to now, the Vietnam - Japan Festival has become a familiar cultural exchange event, eagerly awaited by people in Ho Chi Minh City, the whole country and Japan every early spring.
Mr. Vu revealed: "After 9 times of organization, the Vietnam - Japan Festival is not only a colorful cultural exchange event but also becomes one of the important forums contributing to bringing practical benefits in economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Since the festival was held in 2013, after 11 years, the total trade turnover between Japan and Ho Chi Minh City has increased from 3.2 billion USD in 2013 to 5.3 billion USD. Japan's investment in Ho Chi Minh City in 2013 was 100 million USD, also increased to 5.2 billion USD.
Thus, this is one of the events that practically contributes to promoting two-way trade turnover between the two countries."

Coming to the 9th Vietnam - Japan Festival, participants have the opportunity to experience many types of traditional Japanese culture such as comics, music, folk games...
In particular, Japanese food stalls, which bring together many regional specialties of the land of the rising sun, occupy a long street in the center of the festival. In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to learn about the country, its people, and cooperation activities between Vietnam and Japan...
Huynh Dang Khanh Ngoc (24 years old) shared: "The atmosphere of this year's festival is very exciting, with a variety of booths introducing culture and tourism from different regions of Japan. Thanks to that, I learned more about the landscapes, famous tourist destinations or impressive specialties of each province - city.
The festival also helps me feel the friendliness of the Japanese people when I experience traditional Japanese games with them, taste Japanese food or participate in cultural learning games."
