The list of 13 detected malicious applications includes: 3D Skin Editor for PE Minecraft, Essential Horoscope for Android, Logo Maker Pro, Auto Click Repeater, Count Easy Calorie Calculator, Sound Volume Extender, LetterLink, Step Keeper: Easy Pedometer, Track Your Sleep, Sound Volume Booster, NUMEROLOGY: PERSONAL HOROSCOPE & NUMBER PREDICTIONS, Astrological Navigator: Daily Horoscope & Tarot and Universal Calculator.
According to experts at McAfee, "these malware can remain active for long periods of time without being detected. The attackers can control the devices through remote servers."
In particular, the malware also allows criminals to perform many fraudulent acts such as automatically clicking on advertisements, remotely installing applications or attacking user accounts.
Android smartphone users need to be extremely cautious when installing applications, even if they are downloaded from Google Play. In case they have installed these malicious software, users should quickly remove them from their devices.
