Vietcombank calls on all employees of the system to support at least one day's salary for people in areas affected by storm Yagi, estimated at over 10 billion VND.
Faced with the severe impacts caused by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) on many northern provinces and cities in recent times, on September 9, 2024, General Secretary and President To Lam sent a letter to compatriots and soldiers affected by storm Yagi, and at the same time called on the business community, philanthropists, and our compatriots at home and abroad, based on their functions, tasks, capabilities, and conditions, to continue to strongly promote national sentiment and compatriotism, to provide the highest, fastest, and most timely support directly to families suffering loss of life and property caused by natural disasters.
With the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", "the rich help the poor", promoting the core cultural values of Vietcombank and the good tradition of "mutual love and support" of the nation, the Standing Committee of Vietcombank Trade Union has mobilized all union members and employees to join hands, share and support people in areas affected by storms and floods with a minimum donation of 01 day's salary/person (the total amount of donations in the entire Vietcombank system is estimated at over 10 billion VND).

In the provinces/cities affected by the storm and flood, despite suffering many damages, Vietcombank branches have promptly responded, ensured the safety of people and property, quickly overcame damages and incidents, ensured continuous operations, and provided seamless services to customers. The branches have also proactively grasped information about customers who suffered damages, shared and worked with customers to find solutions; actively participated with local authorities to support the community and people to overcome the consequences of the storm, stabilize their lives and production activities; promptly provided support appropriate to the actual situation in the spirit of "the whole leaf covers the torn leaf".
Previously, on September 10, 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front launched a campaign to support people affected by storm No. 3. Vietcombank donated 2 billion VND, and together with the Banking Trade Union, joined hands to support people to overcome the consequences of the storm.
With the above donation, Vietcombank in particular, banks and the entire banking industry in general wish to contribute with the Party and State to have more resources to increase support for people in flood-hit areas, affirming its role as an industry that is always at the forefront of social security work.
