At the award ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Sports and Culture Newspaper Le Xuan Thanh said that the De Men Children's Award was founded and organized annually by Sports and Culture Newspaper (VNA) since 2020 to award outstanding artistic compositions and performances "by children" (children are the creative subjects) or "for children" (children are the service objects), including 1 Grand Prize named Cricket Knight, equal prizes named Cricket Desire, and a number of Awards from the Jury.
And the "Cricket Knight" award is the most prestigious award, given to authors who either have exceptionally excellent works or have outstanding works that make it to the final round, and at the same time, have made many contributions to children throughout their lives and careers.
According to journalist Le Xuan Thanh, the 5th De Men Children's Award - 2024 attracted the participation of 135 works composed and completed between January 1, 2023 and April 20, 2024. This is the season with the largest number of entries compared to previous seasons, an increase of 14 works compared to the last season held in 2023.
The 5th De Men season, from 135 entries, had 11 entries enter the Final Round to select 1 De Men Knight Award, 5 De Men Aspiration Awards and 2 Awards from the Jury.

With 11 selected works, the works include many types of literature and art. Among the 11 works that made it to the final round this year is the song “Where do you come from, Moon” by writer Thai Chi Thanh, composed by poet Tran Dang Khoa. More than 50 years ago, musician Pham Tuyen successfully composed this poem. With the score by author Thai Chi Thanh, poet and musician Nguyen Thuy Kha, a member of the jury, commented: "The chorus is fast, fresh, compatible with the current public taste, and you will like it right away."
