On May 31, the Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) held the 4th De Men Children's Awards Ceremony - 2023 at the National News Center, No. 5 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi.
This is an annual art award founded by the Sports and Culture newspaper since 2020, to honor outstanding artistic compositions and performances "by" children, or "for" children. The award categories include the Grand Prize named Cricket Knight; a number of equal prizes named Cricket Desire, and other awards proposed by the Jury each year.
This year, according to the Organizing Committee, there were 121 works/series of works submitted by authors or publishing units. After 2 rounds of judging from April 25 to May 11, the Preliminary Jury consisting of 8 members discussed and scored to announce the Top 10 best works for the Final Round.
As a result, the Cricket Knight Award was given to writer Tran Duc Tien for his outstanding contributions to children throughout his career, including "Hello!... Is that you?" (2022) which was included in this year's award.
Four equal prizes named "Aspiration of Crickets" were awarded to a series of paintings by child artist Hoang Nhat Quang (11 years old, Lang Son), the work "Mr. Ba Bi and the children in the dream" (a novel by Lac An, Kim Dong Publishing House), "In a place with many dragons" (a novel manuscript by Moc An) and the novel manuscript "The goose king of the lake village" by writer Uong Trieu.
In addition, the Jury also awarded two Jury prizes to the works "Nghe ó Hai Xoay" (long story by Pham Anh Xuan, Literature Publishing House - Tan Viet Books), "Me, my father, and..." and "Tu nhung thu thu" (manuscript collection by Doan Lu Thuy Phuong, 10 years old).

It is expected that after the award ceremony, on June 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) will coordinate with relevant units to hold the first solo exhibition for Hoang Nhat Quang. The main purpose of this exhibition is that after being discovered, the Organizing Committee of the De Men Award wants to once again introduce Hoang Nhat Quang's works to the audience and media in Ho Chi Minh City.
Hoang Nhat Quang and his family also want to contribute to the fundraising program "For the school for children" of the Sports and Culture newspaper, if any of his works are sold.
