Mr. Tran Van Tung, former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, has just been elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information.
On the morning of March 18, the 5th National Congress of the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information (VASTI) for the 2025-2030 term took place in Hanoi.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Lang, Chairman of VASTI, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information (VASTI) is a member of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), and is also an extension of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
During the past term, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information has demonstrated its role as a professional social organization by successfully organizing a number of scientific seminars, creating conditions for science and technology intellectuals to promote their creative potential and frankly express their opinions on issues related to national policies.
The Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information has actively participated in consulting, reviewing, and giving opinions on draft laws. The Association's activities closely follow prominent issues such as the 4.0 industrial revolution and digital transformation, while making many efforts in scientific research.
Sharing at the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations Phan Xuan Dung acknowledged and commended the results that the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information has achieved and strived for in recent times.
The President of VUSTA said that in recent times, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information has been operating actively and effectively, doing a good job in science and technology information, specifically consulting, reviewing, scientific research and disseminating science and technology knowledge to businesses and the community.
The President of VUSTA suggested that the Association clearly define its responsibilities, proactively and strongly transform its awareness and operation methods, aiming to build a scientific and technological information ecosystem to meet the increasing demands in the new era.

At the congress, delegates discussed and approved important documents such as the draft financial report for the fourth term, the review report of the Executive Committee for the fourth term, and the draft amendment and supplement to the Association's Charter.
On the same day, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information launched its leadership for the 2025-2030 term with Mr. Tran Van Tung, former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, as Chairman.
Mr. Pham Quang Long, Pham Minh Quang, Do Van Hung, Vu Anh Tuan and Ms. Le Thi Khanh Van hold the position of Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information.
During the 2025-2030 term, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information will strengthen the work of gathering and mobilizing intellectuals to work in the field of science and technology information. The Association will promote consulting, criticism and social appraisal activities to propose to the State strategies for developing economic and science and technology information at the national and local levels.
