On the evening of March 22, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., people in Tan An City, Long An Province responded to the Earth Hour 2025 campaign. Not only stopping at one hour of turning off the lights, the campaign also strongly spread the message of saving energy and protecting the environment.
People proactively turned off electrical equipment, joining hands to spread the message of Earth Hour. Traditionally, Earth Hour is held on the last Saturday of March every year. When the campaign begins, people flexibly replace high-power light sources with energy-saving devices, take advantage of natural light, and at the same time, participate in many meaningful activities towards the environment.
In Ward 4, Tan An City, Ms. Han's family also responded to the campaign by turning off unnecessary electrical appliances and spending time together. She shared: "I learned about Earth Hour through newspapers, radio and social networks. This is a meaningful activity, helping to raise awareness of saving electricity and protecting the environment. Not only turning off the lights for an hour, my family also formed the habit of using energy reasonably every day such as turning off the lights when leaving the room, using energy-saving devices such as LED lights, inverter air conditioners".
People turned off electrical appliances at the same time.
Not only households, many large-scale activities also took place in Tan An City to respond to Earth Hour 2025. Typical are the Earth Hour launching ceremony and the "Green Shift - Green Future" race jointly organized by the Department of Industry and Trade, Long An Electricity Company and the Youth Union of Agencies and Enterprises of Long An province.
Secretary of the Youth Union of Long An Power Company - Dang Khanh Hung emphasized: “Earth Hour is not only an event but also a call for responsibility to protect the environment. Saving energy and switching to renewable energy sources is urgent. Each person takes a small action, the whole society will have a big change. Turn off the lights - turn on the green future!”
Candles are used in many stores as a substitute for electric lights.
Expressing her support for the campaign, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (a member of the Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee Office) shared: "I will participate in turning off the lights for one hour and encourage my family and relatives to do the same. It is a small action but has great meaning, contributing to spreading the message of green living to the community."
Earth Hour 2025 is not just about turning off the lights for an hour, but also a reminder of the habit of saving energy and protecting the environment every day. Let's join hands to act from the smallest things, for a green, sustainable future./.
