At around 5pm, residents living on Quang Trung Street heard a loud noise. They ran over and found a man dead, so they called the authorities.
According to witnesses, two men wearing motorbike taxi uniforms were riding two motorbikes on Quang Trung Street, heading from Cau Market to Go Vap intersection.
When they reached the road in Ward 3, Go Vap District, they suddenly collided. The man riding the motorbike with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate fell onto the road. At that time, a bus traveling in the same direction ran over him, killing him on the spot.
Traffic through the area is congested.
Go Vap District Police then arrived at the scene, blocked off the scene, and extracted camera footage to clarify the cause.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, initial information through checking from the online monitoring system, the Center recorded that at about 16:59, bus number 18 on the Ben Thanh - Hiep Thanh Market route was driven by driver Thai Truong An, managed by the 19/5 Transport Cooperative.
While the bus was traveling on Quang Trung Street, heading towards Go Vap Intersection, a 2-wheeled vehicle driven by a man fell into the driver's right rear wheel, killing him. The speed at the time of collision was 28 km/h.
