According to Ms. Tran Ly Ly, Acting Director of the Department of Performing Arts, on September 13, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a meeting to agree on the policy of implementing art programs to raise funds and support people in the northern provinces and cities that suffered heavy losses due to storms and floods.

The program "Countryside Talk" of Vietnam Cheo Theater took place on the evening of September 18.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung assigned the Department of Performing Arts to coordinate and direct 12 art units of the Ministry to develop a plan to organize 6 art programs.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung requested that art programs must be appropriate to the actual situation, demonstrate the nation's ethics of mutual love and solidarity, and call on people nationwide to unite to support compatriots and localities suffering severe consequences of storms and floods.

Part of the money from ticket sales and donations during the organization of art programs will be sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support localities and people affected by storms and floods, requiring financial transparency and publicity.

Acting Director Tran Ly Ly said: "Following the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Performing Arts has issued an Implementation Plan and deployed it to 12 performing arts units. At the same time, the Theaters have proactively and promptly implemented it on schedule."

"Mid-Autumn Festival without distance" program of Vietnam Drama Theater

Accordingly, on September 15, performances by the Theaters were held. The Vietnam Puppetry Theater performed the program "Children's Moon" on September 15 and 16; the Youth Theater performed "Full Moon Party" on September 16 and 17; the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra performed the concert "Lalo Stravinsky" on September 17; the program "Mid-Autumn Festival is not far away" of the Vietnam Drama Theater performed by People's Artist Xuan Bac and People's Artist Tu Long on September 17; the Vietnam Cheo Theater performed the program "Countryside Confessions" on September 18, etc.

According to Ms. Tran Ly Ly, there are also some programs such as: Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater performing the music night "Hanoi - The Years" on September 20 and Vietnam Opera House, Vietnam Music and Dance Theater, Vietnam Circus Federation... with programs in the coming time.

The program "Mid-Autumn Festival without distance" of Vietnam Drama Theater was performed by People's Artist Xuan Bac and People's Artist Tu Long on September 17.

Ms. Tran Ly Ly also said that the art program to raise funds and support flood victims of the Theaters under the Ministry has been highly appreciated by the public, supported by the media and the press, and reported prominently in newspapers. In the coming time, the program will continue to take place with many meaningful activities, hoping that the theaters and artists will continue to dedicate, share, and contribute to society and to the people through their own labor and profession as directed by Minister Nguyen Van Hung.

"The money collected from ticket sales and calls for support in the programs are all public and transparent, and a part is contributed to the Flood Relief Fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front," Ms. Tran Ly Ly affirmed.
