The theme of this year's Italian Design Day is "Inequality – Design for a Better Life", emphasizing the role of design as a tool to improve the quality of life for people and respond to the disparities in contemporary society.
Initiated in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Italian Design Day is an annual initiative aimed at promoting the historical and contemporary values of Italian design and architecture worldwide, while fostering the exchange of experiences and innovative practices.

This year's event also serves as a platform to celebrate the "Salone del Mobile di Milano" taking place from April 8-13 and the "Triennale di Milano" taking place from May 13-November 9.
Founded in 1961, the "Salone Salone del Mobile di Milano" is the world's leading trade fair for the design and interior industry.
Meanwhile, Triennale di Milano is an exhibition first held in 1923 and recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) - International Exhibition Bureau (BIE) and is one of the largest art exhibitions on design in Italy, taking place every three years in Milan.
In Hanoi, the 9th Italian Design Day will include the premiere of a documentary about the "Triennale di Milano".
Organized by "Triennale di Milano", Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) and Design Alliance Association of Asia, the event will take place on the morning of March 26 at HUCE.
