- Regiment 2 of Division 324 successively occupied heights 224 and 303. On the morning of March 21, Regiment 1 of Division 324 occupied Bong Mountain, the enemy sent troops to counterattack. The fighting was fierce.

On the morning of March 21, the 2nd Corps Command ordered the direct-aim artillery unit of the 84th Regiment located at Luoi Cai village communal house to use firepower to tightly control Road No. 1. On the afternoon and night of March 21, the 7th, 8th and 2nd battalions of the 18th Regiment of the 325th Division cut through the forest to attack Road No. 1.

South of Hue, at 5:50 a.m. on March 21, Regiment 18 (Division 325, Corps 2) attacked and destroyed the enemy and controlled heights 294, 520, 560, completely annihilating Battalion 61 of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. Regiment 101 attacked and occupied heights 310, 312, 329.

The battle was fierce at the 560 height, and we did not take it until 3 p.m. Our artillery fired heavily at targets in Hamlet 5, Dong Toan, Phu Bai, Mang Ca, and restrained the enemy in La Son, Luong Dien, and Mui Ne.

On the same day, March 21, the Tri-Thien Liberation Army attacked the enemy in Truoi. On the night of March 21, water commandos destroyed Thua Luu Bridge, disrupting enemy traffic on the road from Hue to Da Nang.

- In the direction of Military Region 5, from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on March 21, Division 2 opened fire and attacked, breaking the enemy's blockade line east of Suoi Da. The enemy sent Regiment 4 from Chu Lai with the remaining forces to organize a new blockade line along the Cam Khe-Cha Go-Chop Chai-Tan Loi axis.

- In Quang Ngai, since March 21, local forces have completely cut off Route 1, from Bac Chau O to Doc Soi. The Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee has also mobilized the people of the entire province to rise up to capture the villains and liberate the areas controlled by the enemy. The enemy troops here began to fall into chaos.

- On the same day, March 21, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense - Commander-in-Chief assigned the Central Highlands Command to develop combat along the three axes of Highways 19, 7 and 21, coordinating with the armed forces and people to liberate the three provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa. The 64th Regiment moved to surround and destroy the enemy in Phu Tuc; the two battalions 96 and 13 of Phu Yen local troops advanced to occupy Son Hoa bridge in the east of Cung Son.

- In Binh Dinh, the 93rd Regiment and Tuy Phuoc District armed forces attacked the puppet army in Phuoc Hiep and Cho Huyen. The province's special forces battalion also destroyed the Truong Uc position.

- In Phu Yen, the district armed forces fought fiercely with the enemy at Son Hoa and Hon Ken.

- On the same day, March 21, Military Region 9 received orders from the Regional Command to send Division 4 to attack the O Mon-Co Do area.

- On the Truong Son route, the 99th Engineer Regiment of the Truong Son Command organized mine clearance to build a bridge across the Thach Han River, ensuring that the mechanized infantry could attack and liberate Thua Thien-Hue from the north. On the southern direction of Hue, the Truong Son engineers also promptly repaired Truoi Bridge, Thua Luu Bridge, and Tuan Wharf, which were destroyed by the enemy when they fled.
