On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification on April 30 (1975-2025), from March 18 to 21, the Provincial Veterans Association organized a delegation of officials of the Provincial Veterans Association Executive Committee, veteran delegates, and exemplary former Youth Volunteers in the resistance war against the US to save the country to visit the old battlefield.
The delegation came to offer flowers, incense, and visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Yen Island (Quang Binh province). In a solemn atmosphere, the members of the delegation expressed their respect, gratitude, and deep appreciation for the General's great and especially outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the country.
At Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery (Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province), the delegation laid wreaths, offered incense and expressed their respect and gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation. The delegation burned incense on the graves, including the graves of 81 martyrs from Quang Ninh Province who heroically sacrificed their lives during the resistance war against the US to save the country and are currently resting here.
Laying wreaths and offering incense at the memorial of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, the delegation expressed their respect, remembrance and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed their lives in the glorious 81-day and night campaign to protect the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel; contributing decisively to the victory of the diplomatic struggle, forcing the US to sign the Paris Agreement, paving the way for the great victory of Spring 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country .
On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, May 19 (1890-2025), the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Special National Historical Relic Site in Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province. The delegation visited Uncle Ho's paternal and maternal hometowns in Sen Village and Tru Village (Kim Lien Commune).
