Determined to eliminate 1,216 temporary and dilapidated houses

Responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", Ninh Binh province strives to build and repair 1,216 houses for people by September 30 at the latest.

Mr. Le Van Kien - Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that after the Prime Minister issued Decision 539, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to implement the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 with specific criteria and solutions. Accordingly, all levels established a Steering Committee to unify the implementation on the basis of closely following the Resolution and regulations on policies to support the construction and repair of houses for poor households in the province in the period of 2023-2025 that have been approved.

The Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Kim Son district (Ninh Binh province) surveyed a family eligible for support in Hung Tien commune.

Along with the province's policy, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in the province has launched a movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with many suitable forms, ensuring solemnity, economy, efficiency and receiving positive response from organizations and individuals. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has opened an account to receive resources to support the program.

Mr. Kien said that in 2023 and 2024, Ninh Binh province has supported 917 households to build new and repair houses with a total amount of 78.3 billion VND. In addition, from the Gratitude and Social Security Fund, the province has supported 371 households to build new and repair houses with a total amount of 9.387 billion VND. At the same time, the province also directed specialized agencies to design 5 typical house models and disseminate them for people to refer to and choose in the spirit of respecting people's wishes, not forcing households to build houses according to the model design, suitable to the specific conditions of the people.

According to Mr. Kien, in 2025, Ninh Binh province will have 1,216 households in need of housing support, of which 819 households will be newly built and 397 households will be repaired, with a total support cost of nearly 90 billion VND. The province strives to complete the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses before September 30 - 1 month ahead of the target set by the Prime Minister.

As a coastal district with a large population, many poor households need housing support. In 2025, Kim Son district will have 257 households supported to build and repair houses with a total cost of 16.3 billion VND. Mr. Nguyen Minh Truong - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kim Son district said: With the highest determination, the district will strive to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses no later than July 15.

In Nho Quan district, according to the approved plan, in 2025, the whole district will have 411 households supported to build new and repair houses, including 54 households with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs, 145 poor households, 170 near-poor households, 42 households in especially difficult circumstances. Mr. Pham Van Dai - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nho Quan district said: By May 31, the district will strive to complete the repair for supported households; by August 20, the construction of new houses for households on the list will be completed.
