Mai Son District has been focusing on investing in infrastructure, creating an environment of equal competition between businesses and economic sectors. Through that, it creates a driving force to attract investment, develop urban areas, and make the appearance of the district increasingly innovative, modern and civilized.
After 7 years of investing in the BHL cassava starch factory, BHL Raw Material Processing Joint Stock Company decided to continue investing in the BHL Son La modified starch processing factory in the industrial park of Mai Son district, with the aim of diversifying products while improving the quality and value of modified starch products from cassava starch. The project started construction in February 2025, with a total investment of over 244.8 billion VND, with a design capacity of 90,000 tons/year (equivalent to nearly 300 tons/day). It is expected to be completed and put into trial operation by May 2025 so that by the 2025-2026 cassava crop year, it will be put into operation to expand the domestic market and export.
Mr. Vu Hung Binh - Director of BHL Food Ingredients Processing Joint Stock Company, Mai Son, Son La: From the past until now, we have exported cassava starch to foreign countries, they produce this modified powder and then sell it back to Vietnam and now we can completely meet the needs of large food corporations in Vietnam and also increase the value of the product to a new level; will increase the value of input materials for the people and the third thing is that we will contribute more tax money to the province.
Immediately after being granted the investment policy for the Minh Thuy Co Noi High-tech Pig Farm project in Na Sang and Phieng Trai villages, Hat Lot commune, the Company received support from relevant units of the province and Mai Son district to complete legal procedures to soon implement the project. Up to now, the project is under construction, expected to be completed and put into production and breeding by the end of 2025, with a capacity of about 2,400 breeding pigs and about 30,000 commercial pigs/year.
Mr. Dao Trong Quynh - Project Development Director, Minh Thuy Livestock Company Limited, Co Noi, Mai Son, Son La: It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2025, it will be put into operation and the livestock project in Co Noi area in sub-area 19/5 will be relocated to a new location in accordance with the state's policies and guidelines. Along with that, we also implement a policy to attract workers to create favorable conditions for workers to work in the project to stabilize livestock production, especially local workers in Hat Lot commune and neighboring communes.
Implementing Resolution No. 07 dated January 21, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on the orientation of investment attraction activities in Son La province, period 2021-2025, Mai Son District People's Committee has coordinated with provincial departments and branches to organize inspection and appraisal of investment attraction dossiers to ensure compliance with regulations, creating conditions for investors to soon be approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment policies, as a basis for investment, production and business. From 2020 to present, the district has given opinions on 36 projects, with a total registered capital of over 4,175 billion VND.
Ms. Cam Thi Khay - Vice Chairman of Mai Son District People's Committee, Son La: Based on the province's policy, we have gradually removed difficulties and obstacles in site clearance and have also done a good job of handing over the site to investors. In addition, we also create quick legal talent so that investors have the site and can soon deploy projects in the area, especially those projects on agricultural and forestry processing and projects that connect production areas in the area.
By strengthening administrative reform, reviewing administrative procedures to ensure simplicity, efficiency, and practicality, creating favorable conditions for businesses to implement projects in the area, contributing to solving the local labor problem, creating momentum for the district's socio-economic development.
