The literary and artistic works nominated in the field of fine arts include not only paintings but also statues, monuments, and reliefs. These are also familiar works, known to many people.

Statue of Uncle Ho honored

One of the outstanding nominations in the field of fine arts is the statue of Uncle Ho with children made by sculptor Diep Minh Chau (from Ben Tre).

This statue was made of solid bronze in 1990 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birth.

The statue is based on the image of Uncle Ho during his time in the Viet Bac resistance base, sitting reading the newspaper with children, creating a familiar everyday image.

In 1993, a statue of Uncle Ho with children was placed in the flower garden in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

In 2014, the statue was moved to the flower garden in front of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House, in accordance with the content the statue represents.

The 3.3m high bronze statue of Nguyen Tat Thanh by sculptor Pham Muoi is also on the nomination list.

This statue was created in 2002. In 2003, the statue was placed in the middle of the yard of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch, facing the Saigon River to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country.

Monuments and reliefs are strong candidates.

That is the monument to Motherland and the unknown soldier made of granite, 25m high, made by sculptor Nguyen Hai in 1988. In 1990, it was erected at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs Cemetery.

The image of "Mother of the Fatherland" stands tall and straight, her two arms holding the national flag, the flag covering her chest and the two flaps hanging down, creating a meditative standing pose.

In front of the statue of the mother is the image of the "Unknown Soldier" carved and assembled from small blocks of stone, his body hidden in the stone, in a fighting position and ready to sacrifice for the independence of the nation.

Placed behind the Motherland Monument, at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs Cemetery, is a bronze relief measuring 6m x 80m, created in 1993 and completed in 1997, recreating the entire history of the nation.

The statue of the Sacred Soul of the Country is made of granite, 16m high, created in 2002. After completion in 2003, it was placed at the historical site of Ben Duoc, Cu Chi.

This work is by sculptor Phan Thi Gia Huong.

The 8m high Unyielding Monument by sculptor Lam Quang Noi. This statue cluster is located at the Nga Ba Giong Martyrs Memorial Area, Hoc Mon District.

Relief of the 1968 Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in Saigon - Gia Dinh by sculptor Nguyen Hoang Anh. The work was erected in Tan Nhut commune, Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

The bas-relief depicts the heroic feats and sacrifices of soldiers and people of the South, especially commando soldiers.

Painting For the Peace of the Country by artist Le Thi Kim Bach

Painting For the Peace of the Country by artist Le Thi Kim Bach, created in 2000. The painting depicts the nation's fight to protect the Fatherland, bringing peace to the country, currently kept at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts.

In the field of fine arts, there is the painting Thanh Nien Thanh Dong by artist Nguyen Sang in lacquer, created in 1978. This painting is kept at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts. The work was recognized as a national treasure in 2017.

The painting depicts students protesting against the US-puppet regime in the 1960s.

The artist expressed with a simple style, creative composition, focusing on describing the characters' expressions through posture, facial expressions, eyes... to highlight the indomitable fighting spirit of students in the South at that time.

Ben Duoc Temple Ceramic Painting Set

Ben Duoc temple ceramic painting set includes 3 sets:

Painting "People reclaiming land - opening up land" by a group of artists Nguyen Trung Tin, Nguyen Quang Canh and Nguyen Duc Hoa. The painting was created between 1999 and 2001 and is located at the Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple, Cu Chi.

The painting “Our people are oppressed by colonialists - united to fight for victory” was created from 1997 to 2001. The painting depicts the tragic and heroic history of the Vietnamese people against the oppression of French colonialists and American imperialists. The work is on 6 walls of Ben Duoc temple. This is the work of a group of artists Hoang Tram, Nguyen Quang Vinh, Nguyen Huy Khoi.

And the painting "Relaying Strength, Fighting Invasion" was created from 1997 to 2001, and is mounted on the outer wall of the Ben Duoc Temple Memorial Area, Cu Chi. The group that created this painting had 5 artists.

Bronze statue of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh

The bronze statue of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh was created from 2014 to 2018, placed at the worshiping room of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh Temple, Thu Duc city in 2019.

This statue was made by sculptor Le Lang Bien. The statue of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh is arranged in a sitting position on a throne, with his hands resting on the chair, his eyes looking down, creating the closeness of a court official to his subjects.
