(Dan Tri) - Washington expects Russia and Ukraine to reach a complete ceasefire in the next few weeks, US media reported.

The White House is aiming for Russia and Ukraine to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement by April 20, coinciding with Easter this year, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
However, according to sources, US officials are aware that this timeline could be delayed due to significant differences between the two sides' positions.
US President Donald Trump pledged to quickly resolve the three-year-old war before taking office, but progress has been relatively slow.
In the coming days, US officials will hold separate meetings with Russian and Ukrainian representatives in Saudi Arabia, marking the first time since the conflict began that such parallel talks have taken place.
"I believe we'll have a complete ceasefire very soon," Trump told reporters on March 21 when asked about the continued attacks despite an agreement between Russia and Ukraine to limit attacks on energy infrastructure.
Mr. Trump also declared on March 22 that efforts to prevent the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war were "somewhat" working.
Russia has set conditions for any ceasefire, including a complete halt to arms supplies to Ukraine, something Kiev and its allies have rejected.
The White House, which suspended crucial arms aid earlier this month to pressure Ukraine, has yet to agree to any restrictions, according to the sources.
"We are working to achieve a ceasefire and a lasting peace. We will not let the terms of the discussions or the timing be exposed in the media," White House spokesman Brian Hughes said.
European officials worry that Mr Trump’s pursuit of a diplomatic victory could lead to him making too many concessions that could hurt Ukraine in the future. They accuse Russia of simply playing for time to try to extract more concessions from the US and gain more advantages on the battlefield.
Several countries have rejected Russia's demands to stop providing aid to Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron have both said they will continue to provide military support to Ukraine. The United Kingdom has also maintained a similar stance.
