Heavy rain flooded many streets in Hanoi, people waded through water

On the evening of June 20, heavy rain caused flooding on several streets in Hanoi such as: Thuy Khue, Hoa Bang, Do Duc Duc, Phan Boi Chau - Ly Thuong Kiet intersection, Phan Van Truong, Tran Binh (in front of the People's Committee gate of Mai Dich ward), Cau Giay, Nguyen Khuyen (in front of Ly Thuong Kiet school gate), Hoe Nhai....

After a heavy rain lasting about an hour, many places in Hanoi were flooded.

Flooded areas with a depth of about 20-30cm made it more difficult for vehicles to move, some vehicles stalled.

Hanoi Drainage Company Limited said that heavy rain occurred in large areas in the city. The amount of rain measured in some areas as of 7:30 p.m. was as follows: Nam Tu Liem 72.3mm; Cau Giay 43.2mm; Thanh Xuan 40.2mm; Hoai Duc 42.9mm; Dong Da, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem had rainfall of over 20mm.

After the rain, the Drainage Company sent people to be on duty in the above-mentioned flooded areas, put up warning signs, and collected trash to block sewers and manholes. On the other hand, it guided and helped people to participate in traffic safely.

The rain flooded the motorbikes.
On Cau Giay street, many sections are flooded from 20 - 40 cm.
Many people were surprised when Hanoi streets were flooded.
People wade through water at Nha Xanh market (Cau Giay district).
Many stalls inside Nha Xanh market were flooded.
Flooded road at Ecohome3 apartment area (Bac Tu Liem district).
People bailed water from inside their houses.
Flooding also occurred on Nguyen Gia Thieu Street (Hoan Kiem District).
