At the event “Vietnam – US Business Forum on Cooperation in Technology and Innovation” in San Francisco, USA, representatives of MobiFone and Juniper Networks jointly exchanged a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of data center construction and cloud computing services.

On September 10-11, 2023, US President Joe Biden paid a state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. This is President Joe Biden's first visit to Vietnam since he took office in early 2021. This event also marks a historic milestone when the two countries decided to upgrade their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership".
With strong support from the governments of the two countries, the “Vietnam – US Business Forum on Cooperation in Technology and Innovation” was held in San Francisco, California, just over a week after President Biden’s visit to Vietnam.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with the Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco and the US-ASEAN Business Council. This is a favorable opportunity for businesses of the two countries to seek and connect with partners, and explore investment and business opportunities.
The forum was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, members of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation and many leaders of Vietnamese and US enterprises. Representatives of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation included Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Members Nguyen Hong Hien.
Currently, Vietnam is implementing three strategic breakthroughs in institutional improvement, infrastructure development and human resource training, including in the fields of digital technology, energy transition, green transition, circular economy, sharing economy, etc.
With the viewpoint that "resources originate from thinking and awareness; motivation originates from innovation and creativity; strength originates from people and businesses", the Prime Minister hopes that US businesses will continue to invest in Vietnam, helping Vietnam participate in the global supply chain, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation to win together, benefit together, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks".
Accordingly, the Prime Minister directed cooperation to focus on priority areas such as trade and services; investment in new fields, science and technology, innovation, with priority given to digital technology, energy conversion, circular economy, and sharing economy.

Responding to the Prime Minister's comments, representatives of businesses from both countries had open, frank and substantive exchanges on investment cooperation opportunities. Businesses suggested that the two governments continue to promote the connection between people and businesses of both countries in production and technology application; develop the fields of technology, innovation, semiconductor technology, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, big data; especially train high-quality human resources to meet the needs of businesses of both countries.
At the forum, as one of the traditional telecommunications brands in Vietnam, MobiFone and Juniper Networks (a famous telecommunications and information technology network equipment and solutions provider in the United States) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of data center construction and cloud computing services.
Accordingly, Juniper Networks will support MobiFone with consulting, implementation and training in the above fields and the two sides will consider cooperation in developing service business, to help MobiFone quickly and successfully deploy and effectively operate data center projects in the direction of taking shortcuts to the most modern cloud computing technologies and services today.
Resonating with the strong shift to digital transformation in the world in general and Vietnam in particular, throughout the process of formation and development, with the efforts, creativity and dedication of the Board of Directors, of the staff and employees of MobiFone, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation has determined a new direction and development strategy in the period of 2025-2030, aiming to become the leading technology enterprise in Vietnam and the region.
