No corruption in MobiFone transfer

(NLDO)- According to the Ministry of Public Security, there must be no corruption, negativity, or waste in the process of transferring MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation to the Ministry of Public Security.


On February 28, the Ministry of Public Security and the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises held a handover ceremony of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, immediately after the Politburo issued a policy to transfer MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation to the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry proactively coordinated with MobiFone to deploy activities to serve the transfer and reception.

The professional units of the Ministry of Public Security together with the functional agencies of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation have agreed on related contents to report to the leaders of both sides, deciding to organize the signing of the handover of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation to the Ministry of Public Security for management.

This work, according to the Ministry of Public Security, ensures efficiency, prevents corruption, negativity, waste, group interests and violations of the law during the transfer process; at the same time ensures continuity, no impact or interruption in the operations of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, emphasized that the transfer is a milestone marking a new turning point in MobiFone's development management, and at the same time demonstrates the determination of the Party and State in further enhancing management efficiency, ensuring information security and maximizing the potential of state-owned enterprises in the new context.

In order for the operations of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation to become increasingly better, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, requested that immediately after today, February 28, the officials in the Board of Members and the Board of Directors of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation need to determine a new, higher political mindset, motivation, and determination, and urgently coordinate with functional departments to immediately deploy a number of key tasks.

In particular, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security requested to urgently stabilize the organization after being reorganized, clearly assigning responsibilities to each person in the Board of Members and the Board of Directors to carry out production and business activities normally, continuously, without interruption.

According to Lieutenant General Lam, in the long term, MobiFone needs to build a business strategy with a vision, a more comprehensive and systematic planning, develop and promote existing strengths and advantages, take advantage of and apply advanced achievements in the world to serve business activities.

MobiFone Corporation was established in 1993 under the name of Vietnam Mobile Information Company (VMS), the first mobile telecommunications network operator in Vietnam.

In December 2014, MobiFone was converted into MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, under the Ministry of Information and Communications.

By November 2018, MobiFone was transferred the ownership representative rights to the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises.

In Vietnam, MobiFone is one of the top telecommunications - information technology - digital content enterprises, providing mobile information networks, with more than 30% market share.

A report in December 2024 by the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises showed that MobiFone's consolidated pre-tax profit is estimated to reach VND2,048 billion in 2024, exceeding the annual plan by 20.6%.

In 2024, some of the corporation's digital service areas will have high growth rates such as MobiFone Meet (growth of 1,050%), Cloud (312%), mobiAgri (49%), MobiFone invoive (58%).
