The 2025 university admission season has recorded many changes in the admission plans of schools to comply with the new university admission regulations, as well as the first candidates graduating under the 2018 General Education Program.
Open the door to the option of considering academic records
In 2025, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture will apply 4 admission methods including: Direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET); Combined admission; Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Admission based on high school study results. In particular, for the methods of considering transcripts and combined admission, the school will receive admission applications in 2 rounds. Round 1 from May 1 to June 20, 2025 and announce admission results from June 25 to 28, 2025. Round 2 from June 25 to July 30, 2025 and announce the same round of admission of the MOET. Candidates should note that the average total score of the entire 12th grade year on a 10-point scale of 3 subjects according to the admission combination (in which subject 1 is multiplied by a coefficient of 2, the total score is converted to a 30-point scale) and the priority points (if any) must be from 21-24 points or more. Candidates can register for admission for a maximum of 2 wishes corresponding to 2 training groups.
Hanoi Law University announced that this school year it plans to enroll about 2,650 students, an increase of about 150 students compared to last year. The school plans to continue to consider admission based on the results of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade transcripts according to the specific combinations for each major and consider converting international language certificates.
Some universities in the South said they will reserve a large quota for the high school transcript admission method. For example, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance announced that it will consider scholarships for candidates with an average grade point average of 7 or higher. Last year, the school recruited more than 6,600 students, but 70% were based on their high school transcript scores. The Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade plans to consider about 15-20% of its quota based on high school transcript admission methods.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plans to eliminate the method of considering transcripts for 3 semesters (grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12) but still maintain the method of considering transcripts based on a combination of 3 subjects in grade 12. According to the school, the reason for the adjustment is to ensure the regulations in the draft Circular amending and supplementing a number of articles of the university admission regulations. In this draft, there is a regulation that when considering admission based on high school transcripts, there must be the results of the second semester of grade 12 so that schools can fully evaluate the learning and training results of students in high school, while at the same time encouraging them to focus on completing and achieving the best results in their final year of school.
Innovation in assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security
The 2025 People's Public Security recruitment assessment exam will have 4 exam codes, instead of 2 exam codes as in 2024. Although the admission methods have not been announced, based on the admission methods used by public security schools in the past 3 years, candidates need to prepare early if they wish to enroll in these schools. Specifically, in 2024, the Ministry of Public Security will continue to use 3 admission methods for People's Public Security schools, including: Direct admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and regulations of the Ministry of Public Security; Direct admission combining international language certificates with high school study results; Admission combining high school graduation exam results with the results of the assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security.
