(PLVN) - After 4 days of launching the campaign with all forces, the General Department of Market Management (GDM) has raised more than 2.3 billion VND to support people severely affected by storm No. 3 and the aftermath of storm Yagi. Of which, there is more than 1.8 billion VND in cash and 460 million VND in kind.
On the morning of September 16, the General Department of Market Management handed over VND 1,295 billion in cash to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union and, through the Ministry's Trade Union, sent it to organizations to support people in the northern provinces and cities that have been severely affected by storms and floods.
Speaking at the Ceremony, General Director of the General Department of Market Management Tran Huu Linh said that in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and implementing the direction and launch of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry's leaders, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Trade Union of the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the Program to support people affected by storms and floods, the General Department also issued Official Dispatch No. 2606/TCQLTT-VPTC dated September 12, 2024 to the Departments of Market Management of provinces and centrally run cities on launching support for people affected by storm and flood No. 3 to join hands to overcome the damage, support people in localities that are suffering losses and damages caused by storms and floods to soon restore production and stabilize their lives.
Immediately afterwards, on the afternoon of September 12, at the headquarters, General Director Tran Huu Linh chaired the launching ceremony and raised donations.
After 4 days of launching, the account number of the General Department of Market Management's Trade Union received a total amount of 1.842 billion VND from the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities and 04 individuals. In addition to cash, the General Department of Market Management's Trade Union and the General Department of Market Management's Youth Union also received many donated and supported items from the Market Management Departments as well as organizations and individuals inside and outside the force. The value of donated goods is about 460 million VND. The donated goods are clean water, medicine, milk, instant noodles, green vegetables... These are extremely urgent items for people in flooded areas.
“With the spirit of mutual love and support, in recent days, responding to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry and Trade, the General Department of Market Management has launched a donation program to support people affected by storm No. 3 Yagi and after the storm.
The entire force has more than 5,000 civil servants, each of whom donated at least one day's salary. After 4 days of launching, the entire force has raised more than 1.8 billion VND (including 07 groups that will transfer donations on September 16) and many physical objects" - General Director Tran Huu Linh informed.
On September 16, the General Department of Market Management transferred VND 1,295 billion to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union and through the Ministry's Trade Union, the money will be sent to support people in the northern provinces and cities that have been affected by storms and floods. The remaining amount will be used by the General Department to support some Market Management Departments and families of civil servants and workers who suffered heavy losses from storm No. 3 and the aftermath of the storm.
Recognizing and evaluating the meaningful work of the entire Market Management Force, Mr. Nguyen The Hieu - Vice Chairman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union said that after receiving the donations and support from the entire force, the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union will send it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee as well as organize volunteer groups led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's leaders to directly deliver it to people affected by floods. The money from the units will be donated according to general instructions, ensuring the right purpose, publicity and transparency.
