Managers and employees of VNG Corporation will soon be able to buy ESOP shares at VND30,000, while the current market price of this code is nearly VND360,000 - the highest on the stock exchange.

The Board of Directors of VNG Corporation (VNZ) approved the implementation of the plan to issue shares under the employee stock option program (ESOP) in 2024.
Currently, the total number of VNG shares in circulation is more than 28.73 million units. VNG plans to issue 640,974 shares under ESOP, equivalent to 2.23% of the total number in circulation.
The company's issuance price is 30,000 VND per share, equivalent to 8.4% of VNZ's current market price on March 6.
According to VNG, the issuance of ESOP shares aims to attract and retain talent for the company, encouraging excellent work performance.
The subjects eligible to buy ESOP shares this time are the personnel in the board of directors, the board of directors and employees/workers of VNG and companies in the VNG group. However, they are not foreigners.
VNG also said that the issuance of shares to ESOP participants is approved by the board of directors based on the results of evaluating the review criteria and recommendations from departments and divisions.
During the restricted transfer period, if an employee quits due to violation of labor discipline, violation of the law leading to termination of the labor contract or violation of information confidentiality obligations, VNG has the right but not the obligation to reclaim all shares issued to the employee.
According to the list of employees eligible to buy ESOP, Mr. Vuong Quang Khai - Deputy General Director of VNG - is the person approved to buy the most with 134,667 shares, accounting for more than 21% of the total ESOP volume this time.
Next is Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Deputy General Director, who was able to buy 34,000 shares. Mr. Nguyen Cong Chinh - Executive Director in charge of Zalo, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Trung - Executive Director in charge of Game - were also able to buy 28,917 and 15,500 shares respectively... The total number of employees listed in this book is 430 people.
On the stock market, VNZ shares are trading at VND359,100, down nearly 39% over the past year. However, this is still one of the most expensive stocks on the stock market.
