30th Anniversary Ceremony of Duc Nong Border Guard Station

NADS - On the afternoon of February 28, Duc Nong Border Guard Station held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its tradition (February 28, 1995 - February 28, 2025). With the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement and determination, officers and soldiers united in one heart, joined forces, promoted the glorious tradition of the Border Guard force, firmly protected territorial sovereignty, border security, built a stable, peaceful, friendly and developed border area.

The station manages and protects 14.3 km of the national border, from marker 77 to marker 781 in the area of 02 communes, Dak Nong and Dak Duc, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province. Over the years, officers and soldiers have closely coordinated with border protection forces, regularly patrolling, controlling and firmly protecting border markers and lines; promptly detecting and handling subjects entering and exiting the border area, illegally crossing the border to Laos to do business; performing well the task of increasing the density and embellishing national border markers, contributing to firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining political security, social order and safety. Thousands of people have been detected and arrested in the border area for trading explosives, illegally exploiting forest products and minerals; mobilizing people to voluntarily hand over weapons, explosives, and illegally buying and selling and transporting drugs. Of which, 91 cases/101 subjects were handled, with evidence including over 400 m3 ^of various types of wood, 163 kg of explosives, 551.8 kg of firecrackers; 2.135 grams of Methamphetamine; propagandizing people to hand over 127 guns of various types, arresting 02 groups of subjects with wanted warrants, discovering 05 subjects illegally propagating religion.

With the sentiment of "The station is home, the border is homeland, and the people of all ethnic groups are blood brothers ", the station has coordinated with the Party Committee and the government to organize propaganda and mobilize people, settle down, participate in teaching literacy, hygiene, and prevention of natural disasters and epidemics; examine and treat people, advise on consolidating political bases, developing the economy, culture and society, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction. In particular, it has coordinated to build and repair 12 communal houses, 33 Great Solidarity houses, and houses of love; well implemented border foreign affairs, contributing to constantly consolidating and strengthening the solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
