(NADS) - The mountainous border province of Kon Tum and other provinces in the Central Highlands are entering the hot and dry season. The demand for electricity in the area is forecast to increase in the dry season of 2025, especially during the flowering period of coffee trees and the rice panicle stage requiring watering. In this situation, Kon Tum Power Company (PC Kon Tum) has proactively developed plans and solutions to ensure safe and flexible electricity supply, meeting customer needs during the hot and peak irrigation season.

Check and improve power grid infrastructure

Speaking to reporters of Photography and Life Magazine, Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, Director of PC Kon Tum, said that the company has directed its affiliated power units to increase inspection, load measurement, and timely increase the capacity of transformer stations to prevent full load and overload leading to power outages. In addition, the company also implements line maintenance using hotline technology, construction and repair without power outages, and conducts general inspections and checks of trees inside and outside the power grid corridor to prevent incidents .

To ensure stable operation of the grid, PC Kon Tum has scheduled reasonable power outages to handle grid defects. At the same time, the unit has arranged on-duty forces to detect and quickly handle possible incidents, minimizing power supply interruption time. Contingency plans are also calculated to deal with the most extreme incidents on the grid system.

Applying modern technology and effective management

It is forecasted that by 2025, the maximum capacity in Kon Tum province will increase by about 8%, reaching about 124 MW. In order to improve the reliability of power supply, PC Kon Tum has checked all equipment configurations on the grid, power stations, and connected them to the Control Center. At the same time, switching devices on the grid have also been replaced and upgraded to ensure SCADA connection, helping to transmit data remotely to the Control Center, contributing to minimizing power interruption time even in the event of an incident.

Propaganda work for people to use electricity safely, economically and effectively

PC Kon Tum also directed units to accelerate the construction progress of major construction and repair projects according to the 2025 plan. The unit has mobilized maximum means and human resources among units to minimize power outages during construction. The work of reviewing, replacing and supplementing old power lines, as well as connecting and installing new electrical equipment such as transformer stations and power transmission lines, is being implemented synchronously to improve the operational efficiency of the power system in the area.

People increase electric pumps to irrigate industrial crops

In addition to technical solutions, PC Kon Tum also recommends that agencies, offices, manufacturing enterprises and people continue to implement measures to use electricity safely, economically and effectively to reduce the risk of local overload on the power grid. At the same time, the company also promotes propaganda and guides customers to use applications to control daily electricity consumption, thereby adjusting reasonable electricity usage habits to ensure energy security in the 2025 dry season.
