Speaking at the reception, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong, Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, was pleased to welcome Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya and the Thai delegation to Lao Cai to co-organize the 2nd "Meeting Thailand" Conference in the province.

Mr. Dang Xuan Phong emphasized that over the 48 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (1976 - 2024), the Vietnam - Thailand relationship has developed well and been upgraded to "Vietnam - Thailand Enhanced Strategic Partnership" on the basis of mutual respect, trust and mutual benefit, especially cooperation in the fields of trade and investment.

With the advantage of being located in the center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, bordering Yunnan province (China), Lao Cai is an important bridge in economic trade between Vietnam and ASEAN countries with the Southwest region of China.

Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, said that the second Thailand Meeting event held in Lao Cai will be an opportunity for Thai and Vietnamese businesses as well as those in Lao Cai province to meet and seek business cooperation opportunities.

On this occasion, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya conveyed the Thai Princess's thanks to the leaders of Lao Cai province for thoughtfully organizing the visit to Nam Cuong Primary School, Lao Cai city.

At the same time, it is the vertical connection center of the Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic corridor and the horizontal East - West connection center between the northern border provinces bordering China.

It is believed that after this visit and working session in Lao Cai, the Ambassador will propose to the Thai Government contents to enhance economic cooperation, tourism, and transport connection with localities of Vietnam (including Lao Cai), contributing to strengthening the good strategic partnership between the two countries.

Visiting Lao Cai on the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya sent her best wishes to the leaders of the Party, State, Government of Vietnam and the leaders and people of Lao Cai province.

Here, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong and Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya gave each other souvenirs which are specialties of the two countries.

Also this afternoon at the Provincial Convention Center, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai Embassy in Vietnam to organize the Lao Cai - Thailand Connection program with the theme: Lao Cai - a successful destination.

The Lao Cai - Thailand Connection Program attracted a large number of businesses from Thailand and Lao Cai province to participate.

Attending the conference were Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam, co-chairing the conference.

The conference was attended by more than 100 delegates, including leaders of departments, branches, localities, and enterprises of Lao Cai province and representatives of departments and offices of the Thai Embassy in Vietnam; agencies, organizations, enterprises, and Thai investors in Vietnam and from Thailand; and representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam, expressed her joy at coming to Lao Cai for the fourth time. During the reception by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phong, she was very impressed with the vision and plans for the development of Lao Cai province, of the comrade himself and the leaders of Lao Cai province.

Lao Cai province has an important geostrategic position in the road transport route between Vietnam and Thailand. The organization of the program "Connecting Lao Cai - Thailand" this time is an opportunity to upgrade the cooperation relationship in logistics and international trade. These are favorable conditions for Thai enterprises to come to learn about investment and economic cooperation with Lao Cai in the coming time. At the same time, it is an opportunity to promote the image of Lao Cai province to Thailand and vice versa, Lao Cai province will know more about Thailand.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam believes that with the long-standing economic and cultural ties between the two countries, Lao Cai will be an even more successful destination in the future. Especially after the recent visit of the Thai princess to Lao Cai province, Thai people are even more interested and want to visit Lao Cai.

“The cooperation agreement between the Lao Cai Provincial Business Association and the Thai Business Association in Vietnam signed at the “Meet Thailand” Conference on August 29 will lead to comprehensive economic cooperation, enhancing trade and investment cooperation between Lao Cai and Thailand in the coming time,” the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam expected. The “Three Connections” strategy between Vietnam and Thailand will contribute to economic connectivity and local businesses of the two countries.

Ms. Urawadi Sripirom thanked Lao Cai province for its support and facilitation of Thai businesses to invest and develop their businesses locally and believed that many Thai businesses would not hesitate to choose to invest in a potential province like Lao Cai in the near future.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh thanked the Thai Embassy in Vietnam for coordinating with Lao Cai province to co-organize the program, aiming to bring Lao Cai closer to Thai partners and businesses to share, cooperate and together turn potentials, strengths and ideas into reality, helping Lao Cai develop rapidly, grow green and sustainably in the coming time. The Lao Cai - Thailand connection program will introduce and promote the province's potential, advantages and investment attraction orientation to Thai investors, connecting businesses from Vietnam and Thailand.

Lao Cai province's enterprises hope that in her position as ambassador, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya will pay attention to supporting and promoting Thai enterprises to invest in Lao Cai and vice versa, supporting Lao Cai enterprises to cooperate with Thai enterprises in the coming time.
