(HQ Online) - The Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board has just implemented traffic separation for vehicles carrying goods through Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II.

Specifically, from February 21, 2024, vehicles transporting imported goods registered to carry out procedures at logistic yard 379 and Nghia Anh yard will follow the following route: Stop at the waiting area for procedures, carry out entry procedures at the entry plaintiff (Building B); those eligible to enter will go through control lane Barie No. 1 (lane between inter-sectoral houses), turn right along road T1, turn right along road D3, turn left along Huong Son road (D1) to yards 379 and Nghia Anh yard to carry out import procedures for goods according to regulations.
Other vehicles still follow Traffic Diversion Plan No. 01/PA-BQL dated April 25, 2023 of Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board.
Previously, based on the working minutes dated February 20, 2024 between the Representative of the Road Management Office I.3, the Office of the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, the Economic Zone Management Board, the Department of Transport, Lao Cai City Police and related forces, it was agreed to close and fence the connection point of the branch road to the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway at Km 262+480, in Duyen Hai ward, Lao Cai city.
Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II is the most bustling import-export area in Lao Cai province.
According to Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Branch (Lao Cai Customs Department), from the beginning of the year to February 15, the unit processed 7,062 declarations, an increase of 34% over the same period in 2023; of which, export was 2,488 declarations, an increase of 40%, import was 4,574 declarations, an increase of 31%.
Import-export turnover reached nearly 137.5 million USD, up 63%; of which, export reached 71.35 million USD, up 76%; import reached nearly 66.1 million USD, up 51%.
Import and export goods are mainly agricultural products such as rambutan, jackfruit, mango, durian, dragon fruit... Notably, export turnover increased sharply compared to the same period last year, mainly from durian.
