Kinhtedothi - On the morning of December 5, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Doan Toan, on behalf of the city's leaders, offered incense in memory of General Nguyen Chi Thanh at the Museum named after him (No. 81, Tan Nhue Street, Thuy Phuong Ward, Bac Tu Liem District).


This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Doan Toan and delegates offered incense to commemorate General Nguyen Chi Thanh (1914-1967). At the same time, they expressed their respect, remembrance and deep gratitude for the General's great contributions to the Party's revolutionary cause and the cause of building the Army through the ages.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum (at No. 81, Tan Nhue Street, Thuy Phuong Ward, Bac Tu Liem District) was established by the Hanoi People's Committee on December 30, 2020 as a non-public museum, owned by the late General's family.

The museum has a total area of ​​500m2; the display system includes 8 main themes: Homeland - Central Vietnam revolution; Viet Bac; building the Army; building peace in the North; Southern revolution; July 6; the hearts of those who stay; family - the continuing journey.

The museum introduces 670 images, documents, artifacts, 23 bronze statues associated with typical historical figures and events of the Vietnamese revolution. The museum recreates two spaces: General Nguyen Chi Thanh's office at 34 Ly Nam De (Hanoi) and the working hut at the Central Office of the South. In addition, there are more than 100 books written by the General and authors about the General; a system of documentaries about the life, career and life of General Nguyen Chi Thanh.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh (birth name Nguyen Vinh), was born on January 1, 1914 in Niem Pho village, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien province (now Thua Thien - Hue province). He was an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, a loyal and exemplary communist soldier, a talented and resourceful general, who fought all his life for the ideals of national independence and socialism, for the happiness of the people.

During more than 30 years of revolutionary activities, assigned many important tasks by the Party and the Army, General Nguyen Chi Thanh was always present in the most arduous and fierce places, always devoting all his sense of responsibility, determination and intelligence to the revolutionary cause of the Party, People and Army.
