Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former Chairmen of the National Assembly: Nguyen Van An, Nguyen Sinh Hung, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Politburo members, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, Vice Presidents, Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, and many leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations attended the memorial service.
With infinite gratitude, the Party and State leaders respectfully paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader and National Liberation Hero. The wreath of the delegation bore the inscription "Eternal gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh".
78 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The 78th anniversary of National Day is an opportunity for every citizen, cadre and soldier to review traditions, raise awareness, better understand the value of the noble sacrifices of previous generations; fully recognize the responsibility of today's generation in applying and developing valuable lessons in the cause of promoting industrialization, modernization of the country, international integration, for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.

Next, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs, Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
The delegation bowed in memory of the heroic martyrs - the nation's outstanding sons who did not spare their blood and bones, bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. The delegation's wreath bore the inscription "Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs".
Also on the morning of August 31, the delegation of the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense, the Central Public Security Party Committee - Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hanoi City Party Committee - People's Committee... visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid a wreath in memory of the heroic martyrs at the Heroic Martyrs Monument.
