Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document confirming the area, capacity, volume, method, equipment, plan and environmental protection in the exploitation of minerals for filling materials in Phuoc Binh commune, Long Thanh district (Dong Nai) to serve the construction of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.

Accordingly, this area was approved for exploitation of landfill materials for the Central Construction Group Joint Stock Company (contractor for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Component 2 project) in Phuoc Binh commune, Long Thanh district with an area of over 13 hectares.
The total volume of soil allowed to be exploited as fill material for construction at this location is nearly 1 million m3 of monolithic soil (nearly 1.2 million m3 of virgin soil). The maximum exploitation capacity is 300,000 m3 of monolithic soil/month.
Exploitation period until December 31, 2025, environmental restoration period is expected to be 6 months after the end of exploitation period.
Central Construction Group Corporation is responsible for paying a one-time amount of more than 2.1 billion VND for mineral exploitation rights.
Previously, Dong Nai province also granted a license to Lizen Joint Stock Company, the contractor of component project 1, to exploit fill soil at a location in Tam Phuoc ward, Bien Hoa city to serve the construction of component project 1 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway. The licensed location has a reserve of about 200,000m3.
Many sections of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway component 2 project are gradually having difficulties with embankment soil resolved.
According to calculations, the need for embankment for Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is more than 5.4 million m3. Of which, component project 1 needs nearly 2.3 million m3, component project 2 needs more than 3.1 million m3.
To have a source of fill soil for the project, contractors have reviewed and proposed to the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee 3 exploitation locations in Bien Hoa city and Long Thanh district.
Located in Phuoc Binh commune (Long Thanh district) with an area of over 16 hectares, reserves of 3.5 million m3. Located in Tam Phuoc and Phuoc Tan wards, Bien Hoa city with an area of over 15 hectares with reserves of 1.18 million m3.
Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway through Dong Nai is divided into two component projects with a length of nearly 35km. Including component project 1 and component project 2 through Long Thanh district and Bien Hoa city.
In which, component project 1 is invested by Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, component project 2 is invested by Project Management Board 85.
Currently, the land area through Long Thanh has been basically handed over, while through Bien Hoa only about 2/3 has been handed over.
