Storm No. 3 and its aftermath have directly affected many provinces and cities in the North. Overcoming the difficulties caused by the fragmented terrain and the damage caused by storms and floods, the organizing committee of the 2024 Northern Region “Women’s Creative Startup and Green Transformation” Competition has responded flexibly, creating confidence and strength for women entrepreneurs.
As planned, the series of events of the Northern Region Women's Entrepreneurship Competition will take place from September 11 to 13 in Hung Yen province, including the following outstanding activities:
The Final Round of the 2024 Northern Regional Competition for Women Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation will take place from September 11 to 12, 2024, to select outstanding startup ideas/projects that can promote green production in Vietnam, create new directions and increase income for people to award Regional prizes. Projects that win third prize or higher will continue to participate in the final round of the 2024 National Women Entrepreneurship Competition.
The award ceremony of the 2024 Northern Region "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Competition took place on the afternoon of September 13, 2024 to honor 37 outstanding Startup Projects ranked for awards approved by the Competition Organizing Committee after 2 days of presentation competition.
Displaying and introducing products and goods of Startup Projects participating in the Northern Regional Finals and gold sponsors takes place from September 11 to 13, 2024 with a scale of nearly 40 product display booths.
The Organizing Committee of the Contest will overcome all difficulties to ensure that the Contest is not interrupted and does not affect the quality of the Contest Projects.

During the days of the series of events, the circulation after storm No. 3 caused widespread rain and flooding in most provinces/cities in the North. Many localities were submerged in rain and floods such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang... Right in Hung Yen city, Hung Yen province - the locality chosen by the Organizing Committee of the competition to hold the final round of the " Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation " Competition at the Northern Region level in 2024, many places were also flooded with heavy rain.
Faced with complicated weather conditions, to ensure the progress and benefits of the contestants, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union has directed the Organizing Committee of the Contest to overcome all difficulties to ensure that the Contest is not interrupted and does not affect the quality of the Contest Projects.
With the participation of the Organizing Committee, the Jury, the support of the participating units; especially the determination and readiness of the candidates, on the morning of September 13, the Presentation Round of the competition was held online and in person (with 7 candidates attending the presentation in Hanoi).

According to the representative of the Organizing Committee of the Competition, to reach the Presentation Round today, the female entrepreneurs had to overcome many obstacles. In the context of severe natural disasters, many women in the localities are still suffering from the effects of storms and floods, but they still tried their best to arrange to complete their presentations. In addition, with the change in format to online competition, with the spirit of eagerness to learn, many women had to spend time to get acquainted with information technology, with internet connection...
With the dedicated support of the Organizing Committee's technical team, in the condition that the telecommunications and internet systems in many places were still interrupted, after many trials, the women "conquered" and mastered information technology to confidently present their entries.

As planned, the Final Round of the Regional Women's Startup Competition in the Southern region will take place from September 18 to 20 in Vinh Long; the Final Round of the Regional Women's Startup Competition in the Central region will take place from September 25 to 27 in Quang Ngai; the Final Round of the National Women's Startup Competition is expected to take place in October 2024 in Hanoi.
The Women's Startup Competition with the theme " Women's creative startups and green transformation " is organized to motivate and encourage women of all classes and ages to actively participate in startups; start businesses; search, select, and award prizes to honor enterprises/cooperatives/cooperative groups/business households owned or managed by women with outstanding initiatives in improving the production process of new products and services; new business models using renewable energy sources; organic, clean, circular, environmentally friendly production...
In 2024, the Contest will continue to be implemented in the direction of expanding its scale to reach more disadvantaged women through coordination with 6 agencies and units, including ministries, branches, associations (agencies and units), attracting women from all walks of life across the country to participate in the contest, greatly increasing both scale and quality.
At the reception and screening round at the provincial, municipal and coordinating agencies and units levels, 2,545 Startup Projects participated in the competition (an increase of 26% compared to the 2023 Competition). The 80 best Startup Projects out of nearly 300 typical Startup Projects sent by the Women's Union of 63 provinces and cities and coordinating agencies and units to compete in the preliminary round at the Central level of the Union were selected to participate in the Regional Competition Final round held in the province representing the 3 regions of the North, Central and South.
