This afternoon, February 12, Trung An and Tham Khe villages, Hai Khe commune, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province organized a traditional wrestling festival.

The wrestling festival of Trung An and Tham Khe villages is a traditional cultural activity in early spring every year, highly anticipated by the people; it is a place for exciting and intense competitions between young men from the fishing village. In the wrestling festival, while Trung An village allows people from outside the locality to participate, Tham Khe village only allows people from the locality to compete.

This year's wrestling festival of the villages gathered dozens of wrestlers and a large number of people to watch, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere at the beginning of the new year. Following the ceremonial opening round of the children's wrestlers were the matches of the adults.

In the past, the person who won all the matches would win the prize, but now the wrestling association rules that the person who wins four consecutive matches will win.

If there are many winners, they will go to the final round and award first and second prizes. Those who participate in the wrestling but do not win will also be given gifts to encourage and motivate their enthusiasm to participate.

The wrestling festival of Trung An and Tham Khe villages took place with exciting matches in the spirit of martial arts and nobility, in a joyful atmosphere with enthusiastic cheers from the people. Although the prizes were only symbolic, the wrestling festival of the villages brought an exciting atmosphere of early spring, through which everyone entered a new year with much joy and hope.

Earlier that morning, at the spirit altar on the beach, the patriarchs of Trung An and Tham Khe villages performed fishing rituals to pray for a year of favorable weather, good luck at sea, and for their descendants to achieve many successes in life.
