The Red Journey is a cross-country blood donation campaign chaired by the National Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee, in coordination with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the Vietnam Blood Donation Joint Stock Company (VTVCorp) since 2013 with the aim of overcoming the blood shortage during the summer, helping the health sector ensure the care and protection of people's health. This year, the program has the participation of 46 provinces and cities and has received more than 115,000 units of blood.
This is the 10th year that Bac Giang province has implemented the program. The blood donation results each year are always higher than the previous year, contributing significantly to the success of the voluntary blood donation movement in the province, raising public awareness of the meaning of humanitarian blood donation.
Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee has coordinated with agencies, units, and schools in the province to organize 25 Blood Donation Festivals, receiving 18,819 safe blood units, exceeding the annual plan by 12.5%.
