The Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) has officially broken ground on the construction of Cam Ly Bridge to eliminate the only remaining road bridge that runs alongside the railway in Bac Giang.
On March 6, information from the Railway Project Management Board said that the unit had officially broken ground for the construction of Cam Ly Bridge in Bac Lung and Vu Xa communes, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province. Currently, the contractor, Central Construction Group Joint Stock Company, is mobilizing maximum machinery and human resources to construct public roads, bored piles, etc.
Central Construction Group Corporation is concentrating machinery to construct public roads and bored piles at Cam Ly bridge.
Mr. Tu Ngoc Hung, Construction Site Manager, said: According to the contract, the project will be completed and put into use before December 31, 2025, so the unit is accelerating construction from the very beginning.
However, according to the above commander, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province has not yet granted a permit to the construction unit on the dyke and flood escape corridor of Luc Nam river; some households adjacent to National Highway 37 have not yet handed over the site, causing difficulties for the construction unit to access the site at some locations. Currently, the contractor is actively coordinating with the investor and local authorities to thoroughly resolve related difficulties and problems so that the project can be completed on time.
The project will build a new Cam Ly bridge unit for exclusive use of road traffic, with a scale of 2 lanes, 12m wide, with a total investment of about 800 billion VND using the increased revenue from the central budget in 2022.
The new Cam Ly Bridge is about 500m from the current bridge.
Cam Ly Bridge is located on National Highway 37, passing through Cam Ly and Bac Lung communes, Luc Nam district. The bridge was built in 1979 with a length of 272m, 4 steel spans, serving both road and railway.
Over time, Cam Ly bridge has shown many signs of deterioration, the sleepers on the bridge have rusted, the screws are shaking, seriously affecting the structure of the bridge and posing many potential risks of accidents for traffic participants.
