Will iPhone 18 Pro have Face ID hidden under the screen?

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên18/03/2025

According to Neowin , the dream of an iPhone with a seamless, uninterrupted screen may soon become a reality. According to the latest leaked information, Apple is planning to bring Face ID technology hidden under the screen to the iPhone 18 Pro models, expected to launch in 2026.

Will iPhone 18 Pro be a historic turning point for iPhone?

Apple has gone through many changes in screen design, from the controversial 'notch' to the unique Dynamic Island. However, the company's ambitions do not stop there. Analysts say Apple is aiming for the ultimate goal, a completely defect-free screen.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that an iPhone with Face ID hidden under the screen would appear in 2024, but that didn’t come to pass. More recently, display analyst Ross Young and Bloomberg tech writer Mark Gurman both predicted that the technology would be deployed around 2026 or 2027.

Gurman said Apple will begin moving Dynamic Island components below the display, significantly reducing the notch. This will bring the iPhone closer to the seamless display design the company has always wanted.

Rumors suggest that this year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a smaller Dynamic Island, and current indications suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro models will incorporate both under-display Face ID and a small punch hole for the camera, similar to many Android phones today.

Whether these predictions are accurate or not, only time and Apple will tell. In the meantime, users are still debating whether they prefer Dynamic Island, punch holes, or a completely seamless display.
