On February 8, Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport - investor of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Component 2 project) said that during this Tet holiday, contractors mobilized nearly 100 workers and machinery and equipment to work throughout Tet.
The contractor mobilized nearly 100 workers to work through Tet at the construction site of component 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
According to the Project Management Board, currently there is not much land handed over, so during Tet, only nearly 100 workers will be mobilized to construct 2 projects at locations where land is available.
The workers who stayed at the construction site during Tet were taken care of by the Board and contractors, and some Tet activities were organized right at the camp. The purpose was to help those who stayed feel less sad about being away from home and homeland during Tet.
Worker Nguyen Van Xuan said he is from Nghe An and is used to being away from home and working at construction sites, so this year when he was asked to stay and work during Tet, he readily signed up.
"It's sad not being able to go home for Tet, I miss my parents, but anyway, I'm not married yet, so I give my place to go home for Tet to some other brothers. Staying to work during Tet, I have more income, so I can help my parents have a more fulfilling Tet. Luckily, the brothers at the construction site are friendly and organized spring activities, so my homesickness is somewhat relieved," said Mr. Xuan.
It is known that for component project 2, due to the land area, the contractor has only constructed at some locations, the output reached about 140 billion/4,279 billion, equivalent to 3.27% of the contract value.
Of which, the bridge section has cast more than 100 girders, completed 219 piles. In addition, the construction unit also deployed the construction of the pier body, poured concrete for the M1, M2 abutments of Da Vang bridge and the T8, T9 pier bases of Vung Tau - airport branch bridge.
On the road section, the contractor is performing organic excavation, K95 soil filling, test drilling of soil cement piles, construction of culverts, and precast structures.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project started construction on June 18, 2023 with a total length of 53.7km passing through Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces. Of which, the section passing through Dong Nai province is more than 34km long, and through Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 19.7km.
The project is divided into three component projects, of which, component project 1 is 16km long and is managed by Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee; component project 2 is 18.2km long and is managed by the Ministry of Transport and component project 3 is 19.5km long and is managed by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee.
