Regarding the digital economy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade focuses on digital transformation in e-commerce, industry and energy. The Ministry sets a target that by 2030, the contribution of the digital economy will be 20-25%, the growth rate of e-commerce retail sales will reach 20-25%, the rate of enterprises accessing the digital ecosystem will reach 50%, and 70% of industrial enterprises will apply digital transformation. Typically, the energy sector has maximized and automated the electronic grid, connected electricity meters, increased the accuracy of invoices, identified network failures, and saved energy, etc.
Referring to the challenges and solutions to promote the goal of 1 million digital enterprises in the coming time, Mr. Quang said that the goal of 1 million digital enterprises is the goal of the whole society, ministries, sectors and enterprises. This is an inevitable process of society.
In fact, digital transformation is still applied by businesses every day, from shopping, payment, search... that is also a form in which we are deeply involved in the digital transformation process. In particular, for businesses in the industry and trade sector, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has programs and plans to achieve the set goals.
Acknowledging the efforts of enterprises in the digital transformation process, Mr. Vu Quang Hung - Deputy Director of the Institute for Industry and Trade Policy and Strategy said that the issue of digital transformation for the industry and trade sector is relatively clear. Especially, in the field of industry and trade, many enterprises have grasped and made efforts in digital transformation, improving the competitiveness of enterprises in the supply chain.
Evidence can be seen clearly through some industrial enterprises that have transformed digitally very early. Typically, in the electricity sector, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has transformed digitally excellently. If in the past, EVN staff had to go to each electricity meter, today, with the application of electronic meter systems, smart electricity systems have brought many benefits to enterprises, reducing resources and costs involved in operations.
Or like the petroleum and textile sectors, digital transformation has also been effectively applied in the production and business process. In the coming time, in the industrial and commercial sectors, the Industry and Trade sector will have many more changes. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to issue policies to promote digital transformation, deploy databases on industry and trade, and use AI to extract data from state management to businesses and individuals.
"With such solutions, digital transformation of industry and trade is expected to have many changes in the coming time," said Mr. Hung.
On the business side, Ms. Dang Thuy Trang - Director of External Relations of Grap Vietnam said that after participating in the market for more than 10 years, Grap has achieved certain successes in digital transformation. As a successful digital transformation model, in the field managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Grap currently has many services such as Grap, GrapBike, GrapCar, GrapFood... Grap is also an e-commerce platform that has been confirmed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
“According to statistics, in 2022, 83% of GrapFood and GrapMark's partners in Southeast Asia are businesses, a growth of 26%. We are proud to be a tool to support businesses to do business effectively on digital platforms. Proposing many effective digital transformation solutions

Regarding solutions for digital economic development, building an electronic contract axis, a paperless trade platform; building digital economic statistical indicators and developing smart grids, power grid safety...
Regarding solutions for developing a digital society , strengthening consumer protection in e-commerce; codes of conduct in the online business environment, on e-commerce platforms. Special attention is paid to in-depth training for officials on e-commerce and digital skills; training digital human resources for universities. Expected to train one million people from businesses in 5 years on digital skills and e-commerce
With this series of solutions, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will basically build an "electronic Ministry of Industry and Trade" to better serve the people and businesses as well as serve the direction, management and handling of work within the Ministry of Industry and Trade in particular and state agencies in general.
Promoting digital transformation helps businesses in the industry and trade sector gradually establish a highly flexible production and business system to meet customer needs. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to accompany and support localities and the business community with solutions for effective and successful digital transformation.
