Having recently decided to stay in France, your current life with your children must be very interesting?
- Tom and Tep are now 11 years old, both are taller than their mother and often tease her: "Mom, why are you so short?". Tom and Tep love art, although they may not become professional artists like their mother.
Aden (baby Tom - PV) wants to become a doctor, and Lea (baby Tep - PV) wants to become a painter. But both children learn piano, Aden also learns saxophone and is a student of teacher Tran Manh Tuan.
When I went to France, I let her study with a teacher in Paris, but now every time I return to Vietnam with my mother, she asks to go to Mr. Tran Manh Tuan's house to have him teach her. Lea has also studied art and is very talented in painting.
Having 2 kids makes me very busy and not easy, about to enter "adolescence" so there are many worries. Sometimes it's "so much fun" but sometimes the kids make my head boil (laughs).
But I always cherish and feel happy in those moments when mother and child are together, and my two children are the biggest motivation for me to live each day happily and meaningfully.

So what about your decision to stay in France because you followed the "call of love"?
- It was a sudden decision. Initially, my children and I were going to Paris for a 6-week summer vacation. But at that time, the school announced that due to the tense Covid-19 situation in the country, students would continue to study online.
I decided to stay in Paris for a year so that my children could go to school, meet their friends and teachers, and study in a natural environment without having to learn through a screen. After the year was over, they wanted to stay to become fluent in French and also enjoy the artistic environment in this country.
My boyfriend, Gerhard Heusch, is an architect and very knowledgeable about art. Every month, the whole family goes to the opera, concerts, etc.
Every week, we go to museums or attend art events. Because he is an architect, there are many invitations and the whole family attends together. In terms of art and culture activities, the past 2 years have created a very special input into culture and art for all 3 of us.
When I was stuck in the US due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we talked and cared for each other more. During that time, the sharing and caring that Gerhard Heusch gave to me and the two children touched me.
My boyfriend and I also have many common interests, we can say we are compatible in every way, we both love art and sports.
Hong Nhung will participate in the program "As if I Loved You" in Hanoi (Photo: Vu Khanh Thanh).
After the special program about Trinh Cong Son at the Opera House, Hong Nhung rarely appeared on the Hanoi stage?
- It's true that I've been appearing in fewer music shows recently, because I'm living in Paris with my two children. In the past year, I've flown back to Vietnam about 16 times.
And each time I return is a difficult time for a singer who is no longer a teenager like me. The long trips and the time travel are challenges for me, but I still try to return to participate in a few shows, but not as many as before.
Therefore, the program Nhu Da Dau Yeu taking place on the evening of September 16 in Hanoi contains even more things that I want to express on stage. Most especially, my feelings for the Hanoi audience, the beloved audience of all 4 of us artists - the people who have accompanied us throughout our youth.
Hong Nhung shared: "My nature is not to be tall or strong, so I pay a lot of attention to maintaining my health and exercising regularly" (Photo: Vu Khanh Thanh).
Returning to the art program in Hanoi this time, what new things do you bring in terms of emotions and songs?
- I feel very happy and excited every time I get to work with the organizer and return to Hanoi, singing with other singers such as: Bang Kieu, Le Quyen, Lan Nha.
For me, after 2 years in France and several years of Covid-19, now is the opportunity to reunite.
And just like the name of the program As if we loved each other , we had to wait a long time to now be able to return to love the memories, love today, return to a happy life, love everyone more and cherish the days after the challenges and difficulties we have passed.
The singers get to meet and interact on stage, and for us these are precious gifts. We are all looking forward to it and are excited to be back on the show.
The crew is discussing and calculating to have a little more special performances such as: Hong Nhung will sing a duet with Le Quyen.
I also wish to bring a work composed by young artist Vu Cat Tuong and I: I, past and present, Hanoi . The song talks about the feelings of Hanoians and people from other places for the capital.
I hope that this will be an opportunity to sing a duet with someone in the autumn weather of Hanoi. And there are many plans that the crew is nurturing with the music director, but the organizers also want to keep it a secret so that the audience coming to the program will have anticipation, surprise and excitement.

People say, Hong Nhung has been forgotten by time, her beauty seems to age in reverse, becoming more and more beautiful, do you have any secret?
- Thank you very much for your compliment! Actually, I was born a skinny girl and my health was quite weak. My father had to buy me toad powder to eat because he was worried that I would have rickets.
So when I grew up, I was still tiny, weighing probably only 36kg, so my father said: "When people were 17, they broke buffalo horns, but when I was 17, I broke cockroach horns. How boring!"
I am not a tall or strong person by nature, so I pay a lot of attention to maintaining my health and exercising regularly. I focus on sports, creating a fairly moderate and disciplined lifestyle. Every day I wake up early and start the day by doing yoga and practicing singing.
Staying up late is unavoidable because I have to perform, but I limit loitering because I have to go home to rest and stay healthy. Sometimes I can meditate, read books, watch TV to calm down the excitement in my body. At the same time, I pay close attention to health care or yoga.
Yoga is not only a sport for women to have a flexible body and a toned figure, but it also helps me have a very good breathing environment.
Honestly, up to now, Hong Nhung's voice, if she sings loudly, cannot be as loud as Hong Nhung's when she was 18 or 20. But in terms of sound quality, because she studied vocal music and practiced every day, she is more polished and has a longer breath than when she was "young and immature".
Thank you for sharing!
