Honda Vietnam and Vietnam Post continue to expand cooperation

On June 20, 2024, Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) and Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) expanded the project of using electric delivery vehicles. Accordingly, HVN continued to hand over 130 more Benly e electric vehicles: used by Vietnam Post for last-mile delivery purposes. The application and conversion of clean energy in production and business activities as well as research and development of vehicle products have been and are being focused on by HVN. Along with that, Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) - the only National Postal Enterprise operating a public postal network in Vietnam, a national brand that is especially close to the lives of Vietnamese people, is also strongly implementing Greening activities in production and business. This is not only a positive factor for the environment, but also brings many strategic and economic benefits for the sustainable development of enterprises in particular and society in general.

Based on the special requirements of the freight forwarding service industry, with high frequency of vehicle use, HVN and Vietnam Post have researched and piloted the expansion of postal delivery activities, moving towards transferring green vehicles to the community. Therefore, HVN has cooperated with Vietnam Post - a postal enterprise with a nationwide service network in converting to electric vehicles for delivery. From 2021 to present, HVN has cooperated with Vietnam Post to implement a project to test the use of storage boxes on 70 electric vehicles for delivery services and pilot the electric battery exchange model to understand market demand, as a premise for converting to green vehicles. After more than 2 years of operation, the project has initially brought positive results.

Honda Benly e:, the model used in the project, is designed with a sturdy and safe cargo box, optimized for cargo transportation, compact, suitable for the transportation system in Vietnam, especially in the inner city. Through the testing process, the electric vehicles have been highly appreciated for their good and smooth operation, bringing a comfortable feeling when driving. This has greatly supported delivery staff in improving productivity and service quality. In addition, using electric delivery vehicles has also received positive feedback from the economic and business operation perspective.

Continuously making new strides, HVN and Vietnam Post continue to expand their cooperation in using electric delivery vehicles in Ho Chi Minh City - one of the largest two-wheeled vehicle markets in the country and also a locality that is paying special attention and taking the lead in implementing solutions towards the strategic goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. Accordingly, HVN will hand over to Vietnam Post an additional 130 Benly e: electric vehicles for delivery in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces in the South.

This has helped HVN better access and grasp the needs and tastes of customers for electric motorbikes, which is the foundation data for developing new products in the future.
