On the morning of January 5, the Vietnamese team arrived at Noi Bai airport to board the flight to Qatar to participate in the 2023 Asian Cup. The entire team wore travel uniforms from the new sponsor, including jackets, sweatpants, and shoes. This is not new because for many years, the team has worn such uniforms when traveling to international tournaments or participating in events.
On social networks, besides some good/bad comments related to personal aesthetic "taste", there are many opinions from fans that this outfit is impolite, not elegant enough and not suitable for the face of a national team, which represents the country in the number 1 continental tournament.

These views are placed in the context of the Japanese team also departing for Qatar today with a completely opposite image. The team of the land of the rising sun did not use sports uniforms, instead, Kaoru Mitoma and his teammates wore uniform vests. This is the usual outfit of the Japanese team every time they compete internationally.
However, many fans also refuted the criticism, saying that it was an act of "looking for trouble". The Vietnamese team's use of proper uniforms is also in accordance with the contract with the sponsor and shows professionalism. In fact, although sports uniforms are not as formal and stylish as suits, they are still neat and uniform.
Some other comments said that for long flights (about 10 hours), sportswear brings more comfort to the players. On the other hand, this style also suits the image of a football team going to compete.

In fact, national teams and clubs also have many ways to choose outfits when traveling together. This is shown in the world's top tournament, the 2022 World Cup. Most teams choose sportswear.
Lionel Messi and his teammates from the tournament-winning Argentina team even appeared in... shorts and T-shirts. The Swiss team chose hooded sweatshirts.
The German team wore dark black suits and shirts. The English team wore blazers over t-shirts, giving a more youthful look.
Four years earlier, the French team brought the 2018 World Cup trophy from Russia to Paris, also in sportswear.
The most important thing is that no matter what outfit they wear, the teams all appear neat and tidy, leaving a pleasing image for a national team.
