Nguyen Xuan Son discharged from hospital to celebrate Tet

Xuan Son is expected to be discharged from the hospital on January 24 and continue his recovery at home during the Lunar New Year.

Doctors at Vinmec Hospital said that Xuan Son is currently recovering well and positively. The medical team will plan a suitable training program for this player at home, and closely monitor the recovery process to ensure the striker's ability to return to training and competition.

General Secretary of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Van Phu visited Xuan Son

This afternoon, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Van Phu visited and encouraged player Nguyen Xuan Son before he was discharged from the hospital to return home for Tet.

On behalf of the VFF leadership, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu sent New Year greetings to Xuan Son and encouraged the player to continue his rehabilitation training program at home.

He emphasized the close coordination between VFF, Vinmec International General Hospital, the coaching staff and team doctors, as well as the club, to create the most favorable conditions for Xuan Son's recovery process.

At the AFF Cup 2024, Xuan Son made a great contribution to helping the Vietnamese team win the championship with 7 goals. However, in the second leg of the final match at Rajamangala Stadium (Thailand), Xuan Son suffered a serious injury. At the end of the AFF Cup 2024, Xuan Son won the Best Player and Top Scorer awards of the tournament. After returning to Vietnam, Xuan Son underwent surgery for the injury.

MSc. Dr. Nguyen Quyet Thang, Chief Technician, Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Vinmec Healthcare System, said that after surgery, Xuan Son's rehabilitation process will take at least 6 months, divided into 4 stages with clear goals.  

"After 6 months of maximum intensity training and meeting standards, Son will be allowed to compete again ," Dr. Thang shared.
