VKBIA Association signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Lam Dong Provincial Business Association.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Pham S. outlined the characteristics, advantages, and potentials of the province and some areas of interest to Korea, as a basis for the two sides to exchange information and promote cooperation between the two sides.

He emphasized that Lam Dong province has 4 world heritages recognized by UNESCO (Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space, Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks, Langbiang World Biosphere Reserve, Da Lat is recognized as a creative city by UNESCO in the field of music); along with that are natural conditions that create advantages for developing tourism, agriculture, etc.

Mr. Tran Hai Linh - Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA), Head of the Korean delegation, said: This working trip continues to implement the conclusions after the working session on August 21 with Lam Dong province, also led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham S. working with the VKBIA delegation, to discuss promoting cooperation between Lam Dong province and Korean localities and other developed countries in many fields; at the same time, through the spirit of the meeting and exchange between Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Hiep and Chairman of the VKBIA Association Tran Hai Linh in Korea on October 24.

Concluding the working program, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Pham S emphasized that although meetings are not frequent due to geographical conditions, in recent times, through very effective coordination and exchange with the VKBIA Association, Lam Dong and Korean localities have done many things, that is, opening new direct flights to Lam Dong, cooperating on tourism tours between businesses of both sides, especially in the first 10 months of 2023, the number of Korean tourists to Lam Dong has grown very impressively, reaching ~360,000 Korean tourists, an increase of 54%; At the same time, some agricultural products of Lam Dong have gradually gained the trust of Koreans (coffee, artichoke and macadamia...), on the other hand, there has been a closer and more effective connection between Lam Dong provincial government and similar localities in Korea... On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Da Lat's establishment and development, Lam Dong province respectfully invites the delegation of VKBIA Association and Korean partners to attend and will carry out a connection event between VKBIA Association, Korean localities and Lam Dong province to continue to create new achievements in the cooperation program between the two sides.

Also on the afternoon of November 8, within the framework of the working program in Lam Dong province, the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) visited and worked with the Lam Dong Provincial Business Association. The two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to support member businesses of both sides in the coming time. This is also the basis for the participating parties to implement the next steps related to cooperation. Within the framework of the program, immediately after the signing, VKBIA launched the office of the Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Support Center, located at 2A Tran Hung Dao, Da Lat City, Lam Dong, to support, connect businesses, and cooperate between Vietnam and Korea.

During the visit and working session in Lam Dong province, the delegation of the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) and Korean localities conducted a field survey at many establishments in Lam Dong. The delegation visited Tam Trinh Import-Export Company Limited, Hoai Anh Macadamia Company Limited (Lam Ha district); Sacom - Tuyen Lam Joint Stock Company, Thai Chau Pure Coffee Company Limited (Da Lat); Vuong Quoc Tinh Yeu (Lac Duong district), Lien Khuong airport... These are the units operating in tourism and producing and trading in Lam Dong's main specialties that Korean tourists love (coffee, macadamia nuts, artichoke tea). Mr. Tran Hai Linh - Chairman of VKBIA said that visiting Lam Dong's establishments helped the members of the delegation, Korean localities and especially businesses to have a closer and clearer view of Lam Dong's potential, contributing to promoting trade cooperation in the coming time...

Continuing the working schedule, the delegation went to Ho Chi Minh City and worked with the Board of Directors of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Southern Region (ASMES), and witnessed the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between ASMES and the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA).

The two associations will be a bridge between Vietnamese and Korean enterprises to enhance their ability to participate in the supply chain and enhance their capacity, prioritize the use of services, and consume products and goods of both parties; promote and disseminate training programs, professional development programs and expert exchanges; and promote cultural exchange activities between Vietnam and Korea.

Next, the delegation visited and worked with a number of establishments specializing in agricultural processing and tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, in order to continue to support and strengthen closer and more effective cooperation between Korean and Vietnamese localities.
