Tourism contributes at least 10% to GRDP

Resolution No. 11-NQ/TU, issued on February 18, 2025 by the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development to 2030, with a vision to 2050, emphasizes improving service quality and positioning tourism brands on domestic and international maps. At the same time, developing unique products and enhancing unique experiences to attract and retain tourists.

The goal set by 2030 is to make tourism one of the four economic pillars of the province, contributing at least 10% to the province's GRDP; becoming an important driving force to create spillover, promote other service industries and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.

The average growth rate of the whole industry is expected to reach 17% per year, with a total number of visitors of about 150 million. Of which, the average growth rate of staying guests is 20% per year, reaching about 50 million. Total revenue from tourism reaches 170 trillion VND.

Tourism service infrastructure is strongly developed in coastal areas with a modern urban system, connecting with major domestic and international economic centers. Accommodation facilities have increased to about 58 thousand rooms, including hotels, resorts with four to five star standards and other accommodation facilities. Forming international-class entertainment complexes, trade-tourism service centers, golf courses, casinos, marinas and international passenger ports.

In particular, the province will focus on developing typical types of tourism such as: high-end beach resorts, entertainment, resorts combined with health care, sports on land and at sea, eco-tourism, cultural-historical, spiritual tourism, conference and seminar tourism (MICE). With these products, the international tourist market will expand to Northeast Asia, Europe, America and the Pacific region.

Along with product development, the province also focuses on improving the quality of human resources with expertise, civilized manners, and foreign language skills to meet the requirements of serving international guests and high-end customers.

Powerful application of digital technology

According to Mr. Vu Hong Thuan, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, to realize this strategy in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Department will focus on implementing breakthrough tasks in applying digital technology in tourism management, promotion and advertising; building a smart tourism system connecting with global tourists, optimizing the tourist experience. At the same time, organizing cultural and artistic programs into unique products to serve people and tourists at tourist destinations and routes.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the total number of visitors to the province will reach about 64 million, with an average growth rate of 11.34% per year. Revenue from tourism will reach about 71 trillion VND, with an average growth rate of 11.01% per year. Tourism will contribute about 4.5% to the province's GRDP (excluding oil and gas) by 2024. Tourism facilities will develop strongly in both quantity and quality, with a total of 28,521 accommodation rooms, including 12 5-star hotels and resorts. Domestic and international tourism promotion and advertising have many positive changes, the tourism environment has been improved, contributing to spreading a friendly and attractive image to tourists.

The tourism industry will also increase investment in product development, improve service quality to attract high-end domestic and international visitors; develop at least 10 new tourism products, four community tourism models; deploy an automatic guide system at the provincial museum to increase convenience for visitors.

In addition, the industry continues to innovate and improve the scale of organizing events; integrate cultural, sports and tourism activities into attractive event chains, attracting domestic and foreign visitors. At the same time, it is necessary to build a management system, exploit tourism resources in a sustainable manner; protect the environment, preserve local cultural identity; improve the quality of the tourism environment, ensure safety and security for visitors.
