On the morning of March 25, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam informed that in order to meet the demand for air transport during the April 30 and May 1 holidays and the peak summer season in 2025, Vietnamese airlines have proactively prepared resources, added aircraft, and developed plans to increase flights to serve peak periods, especially increasing the supply capacity on domestic routes.
Accordingly, on domestic routes, Vietnamese airlines plan to operate 7,536 flights, an average increase of 24% compared to the number of flights on normal days. Each day is expected to have an average of 685 flights, an increase of 21% compared to the number of daily flights.
Vietnamese airlines will provide about 1.5 million seats, an increase of 20% compared to the flight schedule before increasing flights and 22% compared to the same period last year.
The majority of flights are to/from Ho Chi Minh City with 5,083 flights (average 462 flights/day); providing 1.03 million seats.
Particularly for the route connecting Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese airlines plan to operate 1,261 flights; providing 305,000 seats, an increase of 7% when not increasing flights and an increase of 11% compared to the flight schedule in the same period in 2024.
"The number of flights increased due to airlines adding nearly 10 aircraft compared to the same period last year, bringing the total to nearly 200 aircraft," said the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
