Complete biometrics for seamless transactions

Accordingly, from January 1, 2025, bank account holders must complete biometrics if they want to make electronic transactions (online payment transactions, payment of goods/service bills, money transfers, etc.), withdraw cash and transfer money at ATMs, use online payment cards, and make QR code scanning payments. Very familiar daily transactions will be suspended if biometrics are not completed.

This is an improvement compared to the mandatory regulation requiring biometric authentication when transferring money from 10 million VND/transaction and 20 million VND/day according to Decision 2345 of the State Bank, effective from July 1, 2024.

This new regulation aims to completely eliminate bank accounts that are not in the owner’s name, applicable to all transaction values. With the completion of the biometrics addition, customers’ accounts will be more secure and safe.

To avoid transaction interruptions and enhance account and card security, HDBank customers need to complete biometric information supplementation using a chip-embedded ID card.

HDBank provides maximum support for adding biometric data easily and conveniently. Customers who have a chip-embedded ID card and a device to log in to their HDBank account with NFC (short-range wireless connection technology) function will do it completely online following these steps:

Step 1: Log in to HDBank App (version from 3.1.7), click "Authenticate immediately on notification" "Biometric authentication"

Step 2: Take a photo of your valid CCCD with chip and face

Step 3: Use an NFC device to scan the chip-attached CCCD to complete authentication.

With HDBank's modern technology application, customers only take 1 minute to perform biometric authentication.

In case the device does not support NFC or does not have the HDBank App, customers must bring a valid chip-embedded ID card to the nearest HDBank Branch/Transaction Office for support.

In particular, from now until December 31, 2024, customers who complete the addition of biometric information and make at least 1 active transaction on the digital channel after updating biometrics will receive 20,000 VND in their account.
